Talking about A pillars: I was driving the Mini Cooper on the highway around 60 mph. Suddenly, the A pillar cover flew away! Apparently this is a common issue on this model. Replacement parts (pillar cover and gasket) have been ordered.

Swapped the GSR four-bolt cap and rotor onto the new oil pump.
Edit: I decided to get the pump sprocket and outer rotor WPC treated, so I disassembled the pump (again) and separated those parts for shipment.

Continuation of the reupholstery project. B-pillars are completely wrapped in 9002 alcantara

So for the a/b/c pillars, alarm cover and 3rd brake light it's unbacked 9002 alcantara.
I'm going to try a test piece of unbacked material first on the headliner to see how it comes out. Just not sure if the backed material really is needed
