The long way home from Huntsville Cars n Coffee part one!
Heading East at on SR72 at SR231, through the new construction and in to the Huntsville Five Points Historic District. Continuing up Monte Sano Mountain through some Alabama Land Trust forever wild and close to Monte Sano State Park. Near the end of part one, I pass Burritt On The Mountain @ Round to Mountain and left to the city of Huntsville back in the 50's. We make the left onto SR432/Governess Drive, that will take you to Guntersville, AL in 30 miles. I sweep to the right to follow an old country road at the base of the mountain and make a right at the light onto Cecil Ashburn Drive that take over Huntsville Mountain on a newly expand four lane. On the four lane we pass the Blevins Gap tail Head om the left, another Alabama Land Trust area. At the base of the mountain, we make a right on Carl Jones Drive and head past The Jones Farm. Jones bought it in the thirties and it the largest operating urban farm in the US.The next right is on Garth Road and follows along the Farm. Before heading into the neighborhood, I pass Jones Valley Elementary. This school was destroyed in the 1989 F4 Airport Road Tornado, Huntsville's deadliest.
Enjoy!
