So got the catalog today from tirerack. Pretty sure I'm set on trying a set of the new Kumho Ecsta ps91.

They are a new release for 2016.

Opinions on kumho? I used to have a set back in the day but it's been a while.

I had some sort of Kumho tires on my 2003 330Ci when I was in Philly. They were summer tires but I remember them being good noise wise but so so on comfort and performance. That's not really helpful since I can't remember the model, the tire's age, or anything else about them really.

i've owned exactly one set of kumhos. they were out of round when cold. this was maybe 11 years ago, but they were awful even though they warmed up.

I put a set of Kumho Ecsta ASXs on my wife's Maxima. I didn't have any problems, but we only had the car for 18 months and 10k miles or so before I sold it.

A pothole did put a bulge in the sidewall, but it was a nasty pothole and I think it would have done the same with almost any tire. I was surprised it didn't need a wheel and suspension repair it was such a hard hit. Glad to be gone from that crap!

Reviews are mixed, but it seems like people who remember that they're less-expensive tires are happier with them.

    Cheers,

I found 1 review from the UK on the M3 Board.

    They seem promising.

2 or 3 of the used cars I bought had "newish" Kumho Ecstas on them. It would seem its the cheap tire people throw on right before they sell the car in order to say in their ad "new tires." I wish the owners would have just saved their money, gave me a little discount, and let me pick GOOD tires. They were awful on all my cars. wore fast. Got noisy and uncomfortable. I will never buy Kumhos with my own money. Michelin has my loyalty now until another tire beats the PSS.

Pss are way out of the budget and means for the car.

It's either these new Kumho or another set of conti dw.
