I was referring to the Copy FA coding part not the main regular VIN and ODO update

May be a stupid question, but is it possible to bench code an LCM/LKM? Whether through PASoft or NCS...

Yes, but you'll need an instrument cluster on the bench too. Basically you'd connect power and ground to both modules, connect the OBDII cables K-line to the TXD signal on the instrument cluster, and connect the K-bus of the LCM to the K-bus of the instrument cluster. Then load up PASoft or NCS, and you should be able to talk to both the instrument cluster and the LCM. You can add additional modules by powering them and tapping into the same K-bus signal.

I see, thank you terra. Is there a good diagram out there for the cluster bench? Most I've seen have been e39. I just began looking into bench setups so forgive me if I'm asking naive questions.

I don't have a diagram, but this is what you'd need to connect:

    Cluster (black connector):
    Pin 1 = Ground
    Pins 4,5,6 = +12v
    Pin 14 = K-bus
    Pin 25 = TXD -- connected to Pin 7 of OBD2 cable (K-line)

    LCM:
    Pins 6, 15, 27, 33 = +12v
    Pins 31, 32 = Ground
    Pin 21 = K-bus

I purchased a used LCM that I believe came off of a 325i. Would I use the "Copy FA Coding" button to get the IKE and LCM columns to match after installing the new LCM? And then code the VIN and Odometer figures manually to the LCM?
