I purchased the vehicle in December 2021 with the expectation of keeping it forever; however, since that time my wife and I have had two kids and therefore priorities/needs have changed. My goal for the car when I purchased it was to essentially re-baseline it mechanically and cosmetically for the next 100k miles. While I made some good progress in that direction, there is still more I'd like to do with the car but just do not have the time anymore. From 2004-2021 the car was owned in the Kansas/Oklahoma area and as such is rust free. Maintenance items and cosmetic improvements I've done during my ownership are as follows (not including regular oil changes, which I've done with Liqui Moly 5W-40 for the most part):
- Replaced upper and lower intake boots and engine air filter
- Fuel filter replaced
- Brake fluid flush
- Spark plugs and ignition coils replaced
- Valve cover gasket, engine oil filler gasket, engine valve cover grommets, engine timing cover plugs, and Vanos seals replaced
- Differential fluid flush
- New engine and transmission mounts
- New oil pan gasket
- New oil level sensor
- New steering column guibo
- New driveshaft center support bearing and flex disc (guibo)
- New exhaust pipe gaskets
- Two new Continental Control Contact Sport SRS+ All Season tires (500 miles on them so far)
- Four wheel alignment performed within last 500 miles (after tire replacement)
- Ceramic window tinting (18%)
- Previous owner completed the cooling system refresh in 2018-19 timeframe around 100k miles
- Front seats replaced with LSeat leather covers
- Steering wheel re-wrapped in leather by Coby Wheel
- Headliner and A/B/C pillars recovered in black cloth
- New Genuine BMW all weather floor mats
- New automatic shift knob
Cons:
- Needs headlight refresh due to burnt bowl ZKWs
- Check engine light on for P0411 (Secondary air system), and P0171/0174 (lean air code)
- I have zero concerns about the SAS. I've had that code flag on both of my E46s with no detriment to drivability, fuel economy, engine performance, etc.
- Lean air code does cause a slight rough idle occasionally with a cold engine. Otherwise, once the engine gets up to temp it's unnoticeable.

I've put a lot of love into the car in the 2+ years I've owned it and would like to see it go to someone who will appreciate it and continue the work I've done.

I haven't figured out how to post pictures on the site yet, so feel free to shoot me a message and I can email or text them to you.
