@ Stuart...:jawdrop
thanks Charlie
Good news - the black engine paint is holding up well after 5 years (and 2 cars now)
Interesting note - considering the car doesn't see salt and doesn't get driven much (and came from CA then TX)...there were a few bolts showing signs of rust
Our humidity is pretty bad here in DC, if part not coated completely then that humidity starts working. GiGi's vert was parked every winter and I've found some rusted bolts.
M54 374 lbs - bare
complete with starter, alt, PS pump, intake wiring etc (NO exhaust/cats or AC) = 412 lbs
LS7 - 390 lbs and 497 FULLY loaded with manifolds, starter, wiring, etc...
SOOOO, add in the SC/manifold unit alone and the weights are nearly the same
Alright, I'm subscribed, reserve me a front row seat.
Peak output is 505 hp (377 kW) at 6300 rpm and 470 lb·ft (640 N·m) at 4800 rpm with a 7100 rpm redline[citation needed] During GM's reliability testing of this engine in its prototype phase, the LS7 was remarked to have been repeatedly tested to be 8000 rpm capable, although power was not recorded at that rpm level, due to the constraints of the camshaft's hydraulic lifters and the intake manifold ability to flow required air at that engine speed.
I love my BMW, but if there is one American cars can do, it's make ridiculous power. IMO, they put so many other car companies to shame in that category.
I had a bit of a corrosion issue when I was getting my wheels off earlier, I guess that's the trade off when you live near the beach. Not street salt in winter like other parts of the country but corrosion still exists out here
Edit:
Installed the easy parts of the silver cube, will deal with door cards/armrests on Sunday

Maybe I should buy some CSL door cards ;)
Personally I wouldn't put a v8 in it. Boost is addicting.
