I dig the strips that Lucy has. Not sure about the M strips on any cars besides a white car. What do you all think about this?

Looks amazing on white. I'm not sure if it'd pull off on another color though.

Prob will look good on black as well. We went through many renditions of "Lucy" before Ryan chose the stripes that she bears now. Colored stripes are hard to do on a colored car.

With that said....the BMW's at the performance center are changed all the time. The last time we were there the guy that does the stripes actually photographed Ryan's Lucy saying that he needed some new ideas for stripes on the cars. He said he puts them on himself and the beauty if vinyl stripes is that he can change how the cars look entirely without sending them to the paint booth.

If you used vinyl then you could change it up here and there, BUT, vinly isn't shiny like paint I don't think. So, that's your call.

If you paint stripes just know that it's a supreme biotch to get them straight. You gotta wrap it around the curves of the car not in a straight line so that it is straight to the eye when you're looking at it. It sounds odd but I'm sure Ryan will chime in with further detail.

Not sure I like how they cut off. Maybe it looks better in person, but I'm not a fan of how they are only like 2 feet long.

works decently on black, TiAg or even a darker blue (orient) as well but most other colors I think it's too much.

I like stripes. Period. However, I think ///M stripes belong on M cars. And I agree, white, black, and maybe silver, are the optimum colors to host the M stripes. But, on the other hand, i feel any car can wear the M flags. And they make mono chrome flags that could work on any color.

I'm not sure what you are looking for with this thread though. Are you considering stripes?

I agree with the M stripes on M cars... but I honestly wouldn't even with an M unless it was decked out in motorsports fashion too. Not gonna look right on a minimally modified car.

I agree with M stripes on an M car. But I really like subtle touches. For example at last years sigfest, there was an M5 and it had a very subtle m stripe going on the bottom lower lip of the bumper. It was only an accent but it looked so beautiful on the dark blue m5.

As far as a zhp goes, I would want to add some German flair to my car. Add a black red and yellow stripe somewhere that might be hidden. I think eventually I will replace my 330i badge with the m stripe badge, only it won't be M colors it will be the German flag colors. Doesn't announce "hey I'm pretending to drive an M3 guise!" Just a subtle German touch.

^ like that idea a lot

this is still my favorite looking car ever which could sport M colors but went german flag instead.

That is nice! What's the spots on the rear quarter?? Supposed to simulate wear and tear on the stripes or something?

*ahem* my signature?? That's about the MOST I'd do, but I do like the subtle touches here and there...

^I like Jon's grill in his sig. My son and I have been considering this too.
I have a black ss ///M license plate frame that I really like on my Black Sapphire, and that's about my max...other than maybe Jon's grill thing.

Like the German flag colors on the 1 racer. Jon, the splash of color against the blacks and whites of your car are perfect.

I like German flag colors (in a subtle application) idea better.
After all, the car is surely German, but it's not an M.

Not really digging it on this 1 M. Of course, I'm still struggling with the lime green paint scheme as well.

They're the OEM wheels, Style 359s. Same thing that comes on the E9x M3 ZCP package cars. I have replica 18" versions on my car.

They're the OEM BMW Performance replicas (still CF though) made by the guy over in Europe. Purchased through the Group Buy set up by Justin.

I'm way late on this thread... But I think subtle ///M stripes are totally fine. After all, they are all over the zhp already (wheels, steering wheel, shift knob). I've added a stripe to the lip of every single one of my cars... even the zhp's.

Those m stripes on the bottom lip are exactly what the dude with the sick m5 had on his car. They looked perfect on an m car.

Agreed, your stripes look great. Here's a couple closer shots of what I chose to do with my kidney grills.

And please don't mind the chip in the red stripe... I'm already plenty irritated about that... :facepalm
