It had snapped and was just dangling there :ducking

Also had a vacuum leak around the o-ring. I bought the $7 o-ring from advanced auto, it fits well but doesn't seal all the way when I reinstall it (I scraped away the old one). Purchased the germanautosolutions repair kit, will update when I've installed it.

Started throwing vacuum leak codes (usual "running lean bank 1" etc code), ran like crap at idle (stumbling). Looked for the leak in the usual spots, and it seemed to be the DISA o-ring, took it out to replace it and got my oh sh!t moment.

Yes, in retrospect I could have noticed a change in the noise. For example, the vacuum canister sound when you shut off the car (puff, fart, whatever you call it) is gone now. Now I hear a hissing/leaking sound as the vacuum dissipates coming right from where the DISA is. Also, it was making a rattling sound as the flap was bouncing around.


Time for the G.A.S kit or Gold DISA! Alot of us here have done it and it Quality...

Yikes. I wonder if it was like that for awhile or if it happened around the time you got the codes.

How many miles on car?

Now that your DISA is out, with the flap removed shake it with both hands and if there's any other noise at all, get their Gold DISA, not just the repair kit.
