My OEM NAV DVD unit in my trunk seems to be starting to act up. I've seen/heard a few mafia members stating they might swap theirs out for something newer. If so, could you ping me if your old unit might be available? I'm in no hurry so even if it's months out, I'm fine with that.

John,
It could be the laser unit inside the Mk4 computer that either needs cleaning or replacement. Here's a link to the DIY to replace the laser unit. You might find this helpful :thumbsup

Hey John, when you say acting up, what exactly do you mean? On long drives, my display starts to freeze up, and I don't know if its the computer in back or the unit up front. Also, sometimes it has a hard time getting the maps to pull up, but I think that might be because I've got an eBay maps disc (burned copy)...
That being said, would you (or any other Left Coaster) be interested in splitting a 2013 OEM disc set?

It's having trouble reading the maps now (never a problem before), and once in awhile it will freeze, and/or reboot. How much are OEM maps? I might be interested. Just to be sure, I'd get the West, right? :biggrin

John, if you're using copied maps then its most likely your laser module. At least that's what is said over at xoutpost.
I have put out the info in my links. Anyway, shouldn't be too hard to replace that laser module. You don't have to worry about warranties since your car is now out of warranty...

I had the exact same problem in my X5 after 'upgrading' with discs from eBay. I just re burned them at the slowest speed on a good quality TDK DVD and I rarely have problems now.
