Looks great! As far as splitters, I never installed the splitters that I bought from Justin's group buy that he's likely referring to. Hadn't listed them for sale yet, but ping me if you're interested. They aren't OEM, the are made from a mold taken from OEM though. A bunch of us got a set from a guy in Europe who does this. I actually ended up paying an arm and a leg for actual OEM Perf Splitters, which are hard to find in good shape.

Wow congrats on the splitters! I almost had my hands on a set but seller backed out, which is cool. The Canadian winter here would destroy them! Show me pics of you splitters!

Daniel,
When you have more updated pics, be sure to post them here....you will be so much more constructive comments w/o the bashing. It's a different forum here where respect for others are the norm :thumbsup
You will find that I have been nuts regarding modding of my cars but I have a time line to meet before my daughter goes off to college so it's been crazy here at my end but what a ride it's been! ;) Anyway there's lots of great people over here who will provide good indepth and solid responses to your questions so don't be shy :bigggrin

Thanks Charlie. The style 269s are really classy imo. I was on the hunt for 135 for a while but couldn't find a set I like. Ideally, I want a really mint alcanatara wheel next when I save enough and of course the rest of the pieces from bmw performance line. hahah.

yeah if you liked classy, you wouldn't have put on smoked corners. it clashes with the silver that's why it doesn't look complete. should be silver/clear or black/smoked.

Just a little update, I got my bmw some mods over the past months.
They include:
OEM ZHP black gloss door frames
OEM M Door Sills
OEM Full Black Headliner set
CSL CF trunk ( I think I am going to run with the cf for a bit, then paint it.)

I havent yet Charlie but when I do, I will keep zhpmafia posted! I am not sure where its from, I was told by the shop that its by this company called "carbonation (sp)?" Anyways, I got some good reviews from that shop that sells the trunk. So I took the plunge.

The door sills are very rare and I was lucky that I got it for a steal from a guy that was parting out a zhp and just wanted to get rid of it.

Here are some pictures of the mounted csl trunk. I know, it needs paint and I will paint it later but for now, I want to enjoy full carbon because thats what I paid for. =)
21358
21359
I guess during the install, what took so long was the wearing down of my trunk sockets. Old age comes with some seizing. So some wires had to be cut and revived. My uncle was not that happy about it. All good though. Shops wanted to charge me $200 to do the install which was stupid.
I will do a proper shoot later, along with pictures of the new/old black interior headliner set.

What are your thoughts about the exposed CF portion where the license plate goes on top?

This. The way your car was without the CSL bootlid was the reason your car is one of my favorites. It is just so... darned... clean.
The CSL bootlid looks good, but I'd paint is all silver (with the exposed CF exactly the way Sean has his in the above pics) to make it look as OE as possible while still adding that slight touch to it, since that goes with the theme of your car (the way BMW SHOULD have built it).

What are your thoughts about the exposed CF portion where the license plate goes on top?
Daniel, I would keep the CSL bootlid as clean as possible. Too much exposed carbon fiber with TiAg would look tacky. With TiAg, leaving the top center portion exposed would be the best way (just like how it looks on Sean's M3) in my opinion.
If I didn't get my OEM CSL bootlid, Sean wouldn't have his bootlid because it would still be on my ///M. When I had that bootlid mounted on my M3 I got a lot of complements from people and I'm sure Sean gets a lot of complements on his bootlid :thumbsup It is done in such a way that unless you're really looking you won't notice the exposed carbon fiber (looking at the car from the side). You can see it here when I used to have this bootlid....Whenever I see Sean's ///M I still admire the look :thumbsup

I like Apexes. Yes, they're "common" here and on other BMW forums, but I have yet to see a set in my town and I've been looking. That said, I agree with Daniel and BP, the 269s look awesome on your car and are definitely unique. I'm swapping to Apex 17s because I want to reduce unsprung weight and I like the looks, but I wouldn't switch from our 135s if it was just an aesthetic thing since I really like our 135s.

Send Badclown (Jacob) a PM. Ask him what he used for his Performance rear caliper retrofit. He has this on his ZHP as well[emoji57]

I used I think Zimmerman cross drilled and slotted rears. I honestly hate my BMWP front rotors but they came with the ECS BBK when I bought it new.

Every time I wash my car (using meguiars soap) there is always a yellowish/brownish film left on the rotors after the wash that eventually comes off with some braking. The film build up is much more noticeable on the fronts than the rears. It’s a total pain in the ass to deal with I have to go drive the car after drying it and do some braking and then come home and wipe my wheels down because of the residue being blown off the rotors and settling on the wheels.

This exact same thing happens on my OEM Hella Pagid rotors as well. I also use Meguiars soap.

The shittiest thing that happened (and how I found out about this issue to begin with) was the first or second time I washed the car after the big brake install. I didn’t go drive the car after and simply cleaned it and parked it. Didn’t drive the car for 3-4 days, came out, started it, went to move forward and it wouldn’t budge. Had to give it some gas before the pads broke free of the rotors. The pads (ebc red box) stuck to the rotor from the water/soap residue and ended up leaving ridges on the rotor that my Indy had to use a wizz wheel to grind off to make them go away. Prior to him doing that I had moderate shakes when braking.

This has happened on my ZHP several times over the years (various aftermarket pads, on 2 different brand of rotors), but I use Zymol soap not Meguiar’s. Strangely it has never happened on my X3 or my old man’s E60 using the same soap (OEM pads).

Daniel,
You need to update your project thread showing your complete BMW Performance BBKs installed.

Very interesting. And this is actually some sort of residue and not rust? I have zimmerman rotors with pagid and the other OEM brand pad around my car and they rust like crazy after a wash or even sitting in the rain but I never had them seize on me. I typically use adams soap.

Lookin' good Daniel! Btw, what's that small black spot on your left front fender, right above the tire? It always catches my eye when I look at pics of your car
