Last month I posted up a thread about wheels, fitment, etc. I also posted up my review of my beloved Broadway Static coilovers. Well, I got my wheels in, put some fresh rubber on them, and dialed in my coilovers for some photos last night. I like the way she turned out. Hope you guys agree.

Wheels:
Raderwerks C8 18x9 et35

Suspension:
Broadway Static Fortune 500 coilover- 18k springs, shortened bodies.

Photos:

Well you certainly have no wheel gap. I would probably raise it up a hair. Maybe a 1/4". I'm not a big fan of the tucked look.

The car is super clean though. Love the skyline pic.

now be completely honest, how is the ride that low? I find when i have my coils dialed down that low that my ride is just too stiff/harsh. I would love to find a set of coils that will alllow me to have a nice low car but with completely OEM ride quality.

Car looks great though!!! Love the low look

that ride height is too aggressive and low for my tastes, but hawt DAMN are those some sexy wheels!

Nice looking wheels, had not heard of that manufacturer before.

I like the height but might could use just a little higher, for practicalities sake.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate you being honest and polite even if you aren't a fan.

Bull: it rides great. I have the dampening set somewhere in the middle both front and back and I don't go too heavy on the spring preload when I installed them.

Dane: it rides okay! It's certainly more fluid at higher speeds. It's not a huge champion on the inner-city streets of downtown Cleveland, but what coilovers are, ya know? I certainly have some more dialing in to do; there's no camber or anything at the moment and I think I might run the dampening out just a little. But I've definitely been on bouncy, obnoxious coilovers and these are not anywhere near as bad as those. It feels relatively stock until there's a big fault line in these Ohio roads....

Will: raderwerks are more commonly used in the VW market. I thought I would be a rebel and use the other side's brands :) needless to say, they look better on a bmw.

Thank you everyone, I'm looking forward to some shows this year, hopefully I'll see some of you out there.

Don't like the way the top of the wheel/tire disappears under the fender; looks off somehow; I like the fender line to follow the top of the tire/wheel circumference.
too low i guess ( but I know it's a matter of preference)

Washburn, I'm actually the same way. I prefer to eliminate the wheel gap and just rest on the tire top. Unfortunately, the car stays in the garage for 9 months out of the year, and I've never taken the time to put it back up a little bit. I will this winter when my girlfriend fixes the rear fender from my brother trying to roll them.

The rear wells are just smaller than the front ones, so the rear always looks tucked unless you want a really terrible rake. It's hard to compensate for. But, the body work and wheel change this winter will bring some suspension adjustment.

Edit: The girlfriend is a body technician. Just for clarity. :pimp

I understand.
Wow - it stays 9 mo/year in garage? how many miles does it have on it?
How do you prep the car for such long storage times? do anything special?

(I am freaking out about storing it for 3 weeks when we are going on vacation next yr)

It sure does. It's my "privilege" to drive it on the weekend. There's something about getting out of the E36 and falling into the cockpit of the ZHP. I love it. I ONLY run Shell 93 in my car, and during warm weeks when I'm not moving it, I don't really worry about it being in the garage; I probably start it once a week and bring it out of the garage for some soap and water (which inevitably turns into a four hour detail) and drive it around the block to clear out any condensation and build up in the system(s).

During the winter, she stays on stands, on a trickle charger, with a good amount of Sta-Bil in her. I don't keep the tank full because I don't want a $60 tank of gas laced with Stab-Bil stuck in the tank when I start it in the Spring. I used to change the oil before the winter, but stopped doing it after the last BMW I owned showed no signs of build up from sitting. This winter, the motor will most likely be out of it while I'm putting on the new VAC head and valvetrain, Magnaflow headers, and VANOS rebuild. I'm also planning a single-mass flywheel for it, so that would be easier on a table instead of under the car, so this year will be a little different.

Great shots of your whip.

Thanks my dude! I'll put up some more in the Spring.

Thanks, man. I struggle on a daily basis whether or not to just keep her pretty or to build it. I've literally posted threads about it. UGH. Thanks though!

Makes me feel better - Mine has 42k miles right now...
I also drive mine only on week ends, but it does get a drive or two during the week sometimes, like if we go out with friends in the evening or what not. And about 2-3 times a year it gets a round trip to Knoxville, TN and back. (about 800 miles round trip, when we visit my in-laws).
I also run Shell 93 exclusively, and about every 6 months i use a bottle of Techron fuel system cleaner. I do have a battery conditioner/charger, but haven't stored the car long enough yet, to make use of it, and it's one of those which u can plug into the cig lighter socket and charge, but the plug is not working (of the charger), so I will have to hard-wire it onto the battery - luckily i can still close the trunk even if I have to plug the charger into the wall, and have the cable coming out of the trunk...but It's probably best to take out the trunk lights and leave the trunk open? idk what gases build up when trickle charging or conditioning....

I would hope that our sealed, vented batteries wouldn't off-gas into the trunks of our cars because they have the vent tube venting gases directly outside. I have a battery maintainer which I recently added too, and have had the trunk closed while using it without issue.

I also charge mine with the trunk closed without issue. I can't imagine there are a whole lot of gases coming off a battery just from a trickle charger. Using a much higher powered charger is the only time I've ever smelled anything (different vehicle).

If you do want to leave the trunk open you don't have to mess with the lights, they will shut off after 15 or 20 minutes.
