Keep running them up guys. I put way too many miles on mine back when it was newer. I only did 5k in 2013 and its looking like 2014 will only be 4k. Living 2.2 miles from work helps, I probably wouldn't have done 5 in 2013 or 4 in 2014 if it were not for school several times per week.
Maybe someday I'll be able to say my car is both a very early ZHP (already can, 03/03/03) and one with pretty low miles for its age. She'll probably hit 130 on or about her 12th birthday (03/03/15).
Keeping that ***** forever, even if I do get another BMW.

Well I've had my ZHP now for a year and put 14K on it, now sitting at just under 77k. That's the most miles in one year I've put on any car I own in almost a dozen years.
Typically I drive maybe 10k. I blame Jr and his soccer games.

Yeah, it's mostly backroads with semi-frequent stopping at lights. 40-45mph backroads, so the lights are spaced out but there's still a fair bit of traffic and stopping involved. I'm happy with that figure.

If I do the average correctly, taking into account my new job that I started a few months ago that I drive a lot farther to, probably about 95 miles a day average if divided against 365 days a year. I drive maybe 20 miles less on average a day if I get a job within 15 minutes from home. Lots of personal miles here...

It already uses 3 quarts of oil on an oil change cycle, so that's got me worried...
I'm hoping it's not piston rings because that means that I might as well just rebuild the darned thing...

BP, what kind of oil are you using? i'm using shell rotella T6 5w40 and after 2 oil changes, i'm using almost no oil over the last 10,000km which is pretty amazing considering my OFHG was leaking and VCG was seeping.

Yeah, seems like I'm actually using less after going to Amsoil from Mobil1. Only had to add a quarter to half a quart on Mobil1, but haven't added anything yet on Amsoil. I couldn't have imagined it would make a difference, but who knows. Could also have something to do with swapping out the ccv :dunno

Mobil1 5W-30. My oil consumption is really weird. If I do an oil change, sometimes I won't have to add a quart for quite a while, like maybe 2500 miles, but then randomly I'd have to add a quart every week or two. It's very strange, and a week or two is excessive even considering the mileage put on it in those two weeks, which should be less than 2000 miles. The amount of miles I drive is consistent weekly...

Glad to hear I'm not the only one using oil. Not that it bothered me before.
Turning 128,000 in 2 more miles. During winter break 2 years ago another ZHP owner and good friend helped me put in a new OEM clutch assembly. Albeit a bit premature (didn't know until we had the old one out); the mileage on the car was right at 118,000.
If this rate continues she'll be down under 10k/year average before her 14th birthday (03/03/17).

I use Mobil1 0W40 and it drinks about a quart every 1000 miles. Not very consistent (my super cold starts at -20F probably don't help) and honestly at $25/5qt I don't give it a second thought. CCV is clear of any buildup so I know it's not that, oil pan gasket and rear main seal both seep a little but that's it. Probably worn valve seals, but it hasn't gotten any worse since I bought the car so I'm not too concerned about it. Zero issues with the glorious 6-speed still on original clutch.
Apart from that I replaced the entire suspension and direction components last May with OEM bits so the car is extremely tight! It's just about keeping up with regular preventative maintenance, really.

You're using about the same amount of oil I am. Here I thought I was using crazy amounts because of track usage, but that's obviously not the case... there have been reports of people using similar amounts of oil at this mileage as well.

Do it! I have had the distinct pleasure of driving in every state, plus a bunch of miles in CAN and MEX.
Did my first one when I moved from ME to HI and at 20, thought it would be "the last chance to make the drive." LOL. Did it 14 more times (3x in one summer). A few on the clock, too... Saw some interesting sights, ate some great food (and bad food), shared a drink with fun people and even more weird ones. A drunk bartender in Co Springs thinking it was totally normal not to know how to mix a drink and let raccoons eat Fritos off the bar...
A few traffic stops, "I have been getting reports about you for 30 miles, it took me 5 miles to catch you." But, no accidents. Once very lucky not to get stopped in UT.
Only broke down a few times and once had to have parts airlifted in to get us on the road the next day.
Now I am getting the itch... Been 6 years since I did a road trip like that.

I missed the reset point for 222.2 by 1 mile so I didn't bother. :(

And you should have waited until 10:22 :-)

Only would have done that if I didn't miss the trip odometer reset. Mine actually has 24-hr time so it would've been 222222 222.2 @ 22:22.
That's OK because the big one is 234567 890.1 @ 23:45. It would compliment my 123456 789.0 that I've already successfully captured!

Damn, that's some serious mileage you're racking up. I've only put on ~1k since I got mine two months ago.
Flipped this on the way back to Mason, OH last night.
