View Full Version : Would a Eurocharged tune fix my 2800rpm stutter issue?

Lowest quote I got to flash my DME to fix this issue was $160. Eurocharged is about $200 more. It makes more sense to go with Eurocharged, obviously, but only if it fixes my stutter issue.
Anyone know if it will?

I thought it was 3800 rpm that had the ignition timing dip?

I'm not sure if that is another issue, but mine occurs at 2800rpm. There is a thread on E46F with people who have this specific issue, and a dealer reflash to the latest firmware works 90% of the time.

I'm hoping it is fixable by DME flash, there seems to be some DISA/ZHP specific talk on the thread that may lead me to believe it could be something else.

Yeah we might be able to if we have the most up to date file to work with on it.
email Jerry@Eurocharged.com and see what he says.

Some performance software includes a DME update, most do not. Either way, they are separate but for whatever reason, DME update will override performance software. This I do know from experience with an M54 motor in an E39 I had.
The 2800 rpm stutter is solved by DME update. The power dip at 4k is a separate issue.

If seems so, I got an email from eurocharged saying it won't fix it.

Dies Jerry know the software update will fix or does he think its 4k dip?

He says the tune only modifies the current software. He said it won't fix the issue, and he did not mention anything about 4k dip, either.

Just to chime in. I have the usual 4k power dip as well as a hesitation at around 2,500-3,000 rpms as well. The funny thing is that it really only seems to happen in warmer weather. Last summer it was happening, then winter came and it stopped. Now that it is a bit warmer out it came back.

As unhelpful as it is, I'm going to echo BRGcoopahS and say that I've just recently gotten the 4k power dip. It didn't really seem to start happening until around 115k miles, and so I had been worried that I had some other less common issue with the car.

Looking at your sig pic, its amazing how much the 1 series M looks more like the 3 series ZHP than the e92 3 series.
