I checked the site yesterday to see if I can order direct at that price, versus going through email, and the prices were never lowered. So they likely blew out their remaining in stock inventory since nobody was going to pay $700 for them!

Just an FYI, bmwpartssource is not the best vendor in town. They had a lot of negative feedback and I had some trouble getting my intake. It took a while but in the end, I was lucky enough that he delivered.

While I was unsuccessfully trying to get an intake from them yesterday, I ordered an OEM roof rack, which was priced about $30 lower than anybody else. It shipped today, so maybe that's a good sign for the rest of you.

If I get their story straight, they had the 5 intakes that he sold for $299. Said he had 20 more, but didn't physically have them on the premises, and there's an issue on how many of the remaining stock BMW will release to them. Or some similar shenanigans.

I believe they say 2-6Hp. AFE is the same, and butt dyno felt a tad better.

Advice: Do not buy any intake for the gain.

Agree with Dane. BMW lists at +3 HP. Actual #s are about +7 is the consensus. Slightly more growl, great engine eye candy, better breathing, not really worth buying for performance gains. As part of an overall slight tweaking of perf, it helps.

They received my payment (according to PayPal) and shortly after I received an email note that said we can no longer honor this price. I don't know if they meant the first one I ordered, or the second one I asked for. Just checked PayPal and no refund has happened, but I also haven't received any shipping notices like Jonnyrad did. Weird...

I bought mine (aFe) for the bling! Actually for the gain, knowing it will only be a few HP. Haven't dynoed it since but butt dyno says it made a very small power increase.

Well, congrats to those of you who have had drama free transactions with this seller.

The day of the infamous 5 intakes, I ordered an OEM roof rack from them. Was supposed to arrive yesterday. About 5:00 the tracking info got updated to "Can't deliver without a valid address". That snafu on their part is supposedly rectified, and the rack should arrive today.

The 20 additional intakes turned out to be vaporware, and won't happen.

I did manage to source an intake from a fellow mafioso, so I tried to take advantage of this vendor's advertised (E46f) special on replacement filters for $55 each. They took my money for two of them. This morning I got a Paypal refund. "Sorry, Jeff, we can't get the filters".

Maybe he should quit advertising a lot of merchandise he doesn't have
