Do any of the BMW Performance parts work or have any benefits to Zhp's? (Intake, cams, exhaust, diff etc.)

Do other parts like the carbon strut tower, shift knob, short shift kit, hand break, aluminum Pedals, foot rest fit Zhp's?

Also, Who sells this stuff online?
I'm looking for those carbon csl splitters (not the club sport splitters).

Does anyone have a pdf of the BMW Performance Catalog for e46's?

Thanks everyone!

Well the CSL splitters I dont think would fit our bumpers.

ECStuning.com sells the Performance stuff and they are having a HUGE sale on them right now!

I just bought the BMW Performance strut brace and intake. Both fit perfectly. Both look great. I would imagine they both work well.

ECStuning recently had the best prices on the strut braces. Not sure who is selling the intake cheaper.

One more comment. I've noticed that ECS is cheap with the product but expensive with the shipping. In the end, they could be more expensive than others when shipping is factored in.

I really was thinking about the stress bar at that pricing. We will see I guess

Turner Motorsport has the strut bar for $390 and the intake for $400.

The OEM M3 strut bar may not be as pretty but it fits our cars perfectly and is easy to find used.

Almost forgot, they have the Performance brakes on sale too. Two-piece floating rotors, cross-drilled, 3.1 pounds lighter per corner than stock....

My driveway would eat those the first time I pulled in. I already can't pull in straight, it has to be at an angle.

I have a good incline myself. Great point.

Any diference? I know at best it would be >10hp just curious. I keep hearing about actual loss of power w/ a cai on a zhp.

I'm lucky. Our property has two entrances and exits. While one entrance would destroy those splitters, I could come in through the top of the property and live to play another day. I like the way those splitters look!

Those grilles are interesting only because they would match the shadowline trim on our cars. My only concern would be chipping the paint.

Anyone know how the performance exhaust differs from the ZHP exhaust?

I assumed they were the same thing. Not sure where I got my info from though so I could be wrong.

Yep. They are different. Different part numbers as well.

ZHP muffler: 18107919236
BMW Performance muffler: 18100429614

Part numbers can be different for the same part....is what I have found. Different P/N's for different applications...

I used to think the same but Marcus is correct, they are different part numbers.

Found the Part numbers for those splitters! Now just got to find a vendor...

01 MOUNTED PART FRONT APRON ON RIGHT CARBON 245G/M 1 51190413028
01 MOUNTED PART FRONT APRON ON LEFT CARBON 245G/M 1 51190413027

It looks like there is an OEM carbon rear apron #51120404942

Found it all here: http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=EV53&mospid=47725&btnr=51_6096&hg=51&fg=95

Those intakes and strut bars are so tempting. I think Turner has the rotors on sale right now also, crazy deal!

Previous owner had installed Dinan chip and air box in mine...I guess that's a good thing:

Just installed mine. Not enough driving yet to really tell, but so far I like the better sound and the throttle "feels lighter". John

Nice parts! I wonder does the Dinan chip get rid of the famous lag above 4k rpms. . .

Last time I looked into it (almost 2 years ago) the answer was no, it does not. AFAIK, Dinan and everyone else's software just adjusted redline and other static points.

According to people on E46fanatics- no; only BMW can fix that.

With the AA software I don't notice much if any lag over 4K. I had a more noticeable lag down low and that is totally gone.

Thanks Eli, I have been meaning to ask that question. I assume that includes the Shark? Got any friends at either of the dealers down there? I'd bet if I could find a dealer willing to do it, I could pull my DME and send it to them so they could send it to Jersey for a reprogram and just reinstall it myself. I'm betting though that a dealer is going to tell me that they have to hook it up to the GT1 after reprogramming for some (bullshit) reason. Yet there are aftermarket tuners that do their business by having people send their DME in to them for programming without the need for a dealer.

I might have to call one sometime and ask, maybe I'm wrong and they will do it. My 4000 rpm power dip isn't bad and I don't always even feel it but sometimes it's there.

Hmmm.....it's not really an OVER 4000 lag though, it's just sort of a hesitation passing through 4000. Notice anything like that?

Not at all :) in fact once over 3500 or so engine starts to rev fairly quickly then once over 5000 even faster. And that's with an auotmatic driven in sport or M mode.

Interesting. I didn't find a whole lot of details at their website though. Do you send your DME into them for tweaking or do you need to go to one of their dealers?

I was at their shop and they programed based on the profile of my car ( AA exhaust, K&N). Each tune is based on your setup so I think going to an AA dealer is your best shot if that's what you want to do.

Yeah, Shark, Dinan, etc all do similar stuff. The dealers like to pull your DME and send it off themselves so they can be sure it is removed and re-installed properly without damaging it since its so expensive. The tuning that happens by AA, ESS, etc is not that far off from what Dinan and Shark do. If the 4k dip could be fixed that easily, the dealership would just reflash the DME with a GT1 and be done with it.

If your car is under warranty, it is covered. Out of warranty you will have to ask for a goodwill service. I had mine done at the dealer and was without my car for a few days.

the 4000 rpm dip update to the DME can be done upon request at the dealer and i paid 240... 120 to tell me i needed the update and 120 to install the update. it only took like an hour and a half

This hasn't fixed everyone's dip, and I believe it comes back after a period of time. I think we may be leaning toward DISA, after Robs update.

Good to hear that at least some dealers are willing and able to do the download in house now. I know that within the last year or so I've read of someone who still had to have their DME sent off to Jersey. Did you have any hesitation accelerating in the higher gears between 2800 and 3000 rpm? I had that cured by an update at an indy shop but still have a slight hesitation right at 4000 rpm.

Reading Robs post has me thinking about getting a GAS rebuild kit to see if I can get rid of my 4000 dip. My Disa was replaced the day I bought my car about 30,000 miles ago and iirc I didn't have the 4000 dip at first but now I notice a brief hesitation especially on hotter days. It would be nice to eliminate it completely though.
