This will be my next set of tires....here in about a week. I will post my review here.
Pretty decent read here about some of the new technology they're putting into the tires.

Not to be a douche but why not try a set of summer tires? You will enjoy them much better.

I don't think summers will last as long.

Pilot Super Sports are warrantied for 30k miles. PS2's were only 20k. Only applies to square setups where you would allegedly rotate the tires, not staggers, but that would be OK in your case. I have them on both cars, they are a FANTASTIC tire.

Yup. Probably the best tires out there. I hear a lot about them.
It would be about $210 more to go with Super Sports. May pull trigger if it's in the budget.
It may make a believer outta me, as I've never had a set of summers on the car, and really am not much of a tire snob....but look for more budget friendly tires.
P.S. Not calling anyone a snob.

You can justify summer tires for safety reasons too. The braking distance and handling will be better on a PSS than those Primacy's. Aren't those what a Prius comes with? :) You have a performance-oriented car on modified suspension. Why negate those upgrades with no-season tires?

What's your average mileage on a set, DW? I know you rack up the miles fairly quickly..

I'm lucky to get 30k miles out of a set. Tires change outs once per year.

Wow. Highway miles?!
I just calculated I have almost 8k on my hankook V12's and they're looking good... but only on the front. My rears were toast a couple thousand miles ago.

So you got 6k miles outta the rears?
I can't have that.

I agree with Dane... There are many other logical and very competent choices for tires aside from the Michelin PSS... We all know they're the "ultimate" tire but in reality, is it necessary? I live in a location where summer tires are the only tire needed, and I still can't justify that kind of money on tires. Dane, go with what you think is best and fits the budget.
In for a review as this may be a more wallet friendly alternative to those not wanting to get into the PSS. For a budget friendly summer tire, I also recommend my purchase, the Yokohama S-Drives (gasp! a Japanese tire on a German car?!?!.... yes)
:thumbsup

Dane those tires look freakin' sweet. Another reason for me to love Michelin. I'm still in love with my Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus tires that I had put on back in November. Curious to see what you think of the new Michelins.

8k out of V12s???? no way unless you are burning out every stop light you hit. those should last 25k easily based on their treadwear rating.

Yep. I don't do burnouts either. But I do partake in travel on long sweeping turns going and coming from home & work/class. It's like a mountain highway where travel is usually 60mph, but I sometimes travel a bit beyond that speed for smiles. My roads aren't straight city or straight highways. Very rural with many many country roads, and I don't drive like an old man either. These tires aren't babied..
My fronts are doing well though. But for 280 treadwear.. that doesn't seem like a lot for the mileage you said they should last since my previous Pirelli's were 220 and all four were gone by 7,000mi.
Dalton.... :foottap
Nothing wrong here! Some shenanigans every once in a while, but nothing spectacular. Just my roads I guess...
I got almost 7K out of a complete set of Pirellis before these :shifty
I was able to knock out almost 27k on the ventus 12 on my previous car. And that was a 245/35/19 with a negative degree of camber lowered about 2 inches.

6k miles on V12s isn't typical. Sounds like possible alignment issues. I also run V12s lately and they are lasting considerably longer than that on an old M3 with modified suspension. I unfortunately didn't record the exact mileage but at least 5k on the rears, they still have more than 1/2 tread remaining.
BTW, not all summer tires are expensive like the PSS, and still provide better grip and shorter braking distances than "all" seasons.

For what it's worth: a tire rack guy recommended the Primacy MXM4 when I described trashing 5 or 6 summer UHP 18's on Boston roads. I may sacrifice performance for some durability.
