Just thought it put it out there. Looks like the guy is from Washinton DC based on his GPS coordinates. I'm not in the position to buy this right now but I would if i was. :X
:rockon
Man I would love to have this. Anyone near Sac have one so I can hear it in person? Not willing to spend that kind of money and risk it being too loud for my taste.

I'll buy it from you Sean, if it is too loud. :p

Derek,
Every bit of that UUC system is supposed to be stainless. Notice all the pipes have been painted gray and the SS muffler & resonators have a heat tinge to them. Idk but i think it takes a while to spoil the finish on quality SS exhaust. Maybe this guy only had it installed one night but the previous/first owner of ths exhaust system put some time on it.

Good point. Hopefully someone more local can examine why he painted it, etc. My HKS is SS too but I painted the axleback due to the tips being too bright for me.

My wallet is telling me to buy this, but my mind is telling me no. All because I would rather have the sexy ss look that nobody but me would see when I'm under my car. Is this logic normal? lol
Looks like a clean well maintained exhaust tho.

Looks like he's closing a deal. You'd better jump as it might be too late. Don't know why he heat treated it w/paint, but it looks like a legit setup to me at a good price.

I plan on getting mine welded, I know a guy that does some top notch work on ss. Not sure how that would work on a painted system. I'm going to use my tax returns anyways.

you can always strip the paint..

True, but like what was said before, we don't actually know the milage on this exhaust. I would rather pay extra for something guaranteed. There could have been another reason he is selling it but we don't know that. I like peace of mind.

Why are you welding it when it was made for "connectors"?
Snowboardinwny
03-05-2013, 05:29 PM
I had read that somebody had gotten thier's welded or had plans to to avoid leaks. I'm no expert, just going on what I have heard, I have heard that those connectors can leak. If that's not the case than I wouldn't touch it.

Certainly welding sounds better than connecting, was just wondering that since it was made to connect, maybe it's not needed. I really don't know.

The sound may not be for everyone but I happen to like it when I'm at WOT and can hear the exhaust note. In normal driving I find it okay and can still hold a conversation with passengers. I have never had any complaints about my exhaust from anyone who have ridden in my car since installing this exhaust. In fact, I have had complements from neighbors who tell me that they like the exhaust.

He's never heard the 135, eh Charlie?
Our 135 has the Corsa with down pipes and mid pipes.... It's the baddest ass exhaust I've ever heard on a 6 cyl. BMW yet, when we go on a 500 mile trip to Ohio, it sounds like a normal car. You can have a normal conversation, listen to the radio at low volume, etc.

Hieu, I just love the sound. Maybe it's cuz I'm older and I'm used to engines grumbling more so than the way cars sound today. Plus I can't hear as well so my exhaust needs to be louder. lol

I'm going to look into this. Thanks for the link. Does anyone have experience ordering with this company by any chance, their negative feedback rating is 9%
I'm about 99% sure I'll have this exhaust on my car for the meet.

lol that's funny since older people tend to say the opposite  i see. most of the owners i know, never heard any other exhaust in person. just bought that one, and is just justifying their purchase.

I think I'm ordering this today lol, what a steal! How are you finding these links? When I was looking the only place I could find to buy new was from UUC and it was made to order, not stocked. So it would take some weeks to get.
Edit: Ok, sort of unsure about something. According to the UUC website there are two tse3 exhaust systems, but neither go with the 14551 part number as posted in the links. Part number is either 14550-1 or 14550-2. The 14550-1 is in stock but not for our cars.
http://store.uucmotorwerks.com/e46-1999-2006-c449.aspx
I'm wondering if the exhausts on the various sites won't work because they are the 14550-1 system?
I'm going to be making some phone calls today.

I'm finding these links on Google.
From what I can tell, there doesn't seem to be a difference between the 330I and 330CI etc... someone correct me if I'm wrong....I've conigured it both ways on a couple of different sites and it seems to be the same part number
The 14550-1 part number on UUC's site is for the older 323 & 328 models from '99 -'00
I'd look at other sources besides UUC for this. Usually , I'm all for UUC stuff as I have a lot of their products on my car but when you can get the exact same exhaust system for hundreds less I'm going to save the money

Charlie and I are talking black tips on already installed TSE3s, not just black tips on the OEM exhaust.
EDIT: Got a response from Corsa. Turns out that the tips are not sold separately, they are already welded on.

So, why does UUC sell a UUC/Corsa TSE3 and yet Corsa has their own version? Is it just a re-label for resale or is there something different?

Those black tips are sexy. Not sure how they would look on a black car. For those wanting black tips, why not cut current tips off, get powder coated, weld back on.

It's the same exhaust, from what I understand they teamed up to create/build it.
I called uuc and I called corsa yesterday. Didn't tell them I was planning on buying elsewhere but I got that the 323/328 tse3 is different than the 325/330 tse3 and both fit coupe and sedan. Corsa said what is on their website and that the tse3 won't fit a coup and you have to get the tse3 light. Yeah ok lol. Basically that tells me that they have the mentality of a parts store cashier. I got nowhere with the phone calls.
I decided I'm just going to pull the trigger on the one from autoanything at the end of the month because that is when the rebate is good for.

Btw, it says they don't fit verts. Spoke to the uuc guy and he said it's a minor mod to get them to fit over a part not on non-verts, and it did indeed work.

If you do, remember that your HKS yearns to live in Virginia. Have the BMW Performance intake and Dinan TB, your exhaust would complete the trilogy.

Know the feeling, I'm spending our tax return before it even gets here. The wife had talked about redecorating the family room, guess I better start dropping hints about how nice & comfortable it is just the way it is right now.
