View Full Version : Recommend me some FCAB's (Front Control Arm Bushings)

Mine need to be changed. I have a shop who will change them for me for $60, just need the bushings.

I'm looking for Sporty/Performance bushings. Preferably with the carrier, but without it also fine.

Look at AKG if you're interested in stiffer /sportier bushings.

The first question is rubber vs urethane. There's a reason rubber is used in the original design. Bottom line is urethane suspension bushings of any sort do affect NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness). Usually in a way most drivers consider detrimental to the driving experience, especially on increasingly bad public roads.

Meh. Powerflex is sub-par to all options out there. If you haven't driven a car with proper poly bushings from AKG you are missing out on some serious fun. Everything is amplified when you stiffen the FCABs. Makes for a much better road connection if you are up for the increased Harshness. No Noise or Vibrations were detected though.

Love my car, just need to get new Ctrl Arms since mine are FUBAR after my accident and never got replaced :(

Also in for another review of the AKG race poly FCABs. I know Hornung loves his. I recently put in the AKG software (80A or 90A) poly FCABs and barely noticed any difference. My suspension was already a little harsh over speed bumps even before switching FCABs, thanks to stiffer springs and camber plates that have less padding than OEM strut mounts. Maybe if I had stock springs and strut mounts, I would have noticed a harsher ride.

Any failure symptoms? I feel like I'm starting to get a we bit of looseness in the front end and I was thinking FCABs...

They need to be replaced....but my tires are cupped too, and I think I need a steering guibo. I'm going to do front and rear suspension refresh soon.
