e39 M5 wheels on e46?

I am being offered a set of e39 M5 original wheels for $200 including tires (1/2 life left). I am probably going to buy them since I know I can sell them for more. But I did a quick search and could not find many pictures of e46's with them; most of the pics were of M3's. Has anyone seen a good picture of a e46 sedan? Could they look good?

My style 135 are one of my favorite OEM looking wheels on our cars, but I have one cracked and another bent. I am going to fix them but at $600 for fixing all four is a little too much for me at this time (I could do it but I would rather spend that money on other things).

Ive just been told that all wheels are 18x8.5". Would i have any issue in the front? The guy just told me he has five wheels, same price.

I think the offset is different enough that you would have difficulty, but don't quote me on that.

Yeah, i just searched and offset is way off. But i think the guy is selling them as originals and they are replicas.

E39 has a different center bore than the other BMWs of that era. Only way they would work was with a hubcentric adapter.

They cost like 20 bucks on E-Bay. I ran E39 wheels on the E32 for a few years.

Makes sense on a 7er...running et20 on an e46 with adapters is going to be ridiculous. Would make sense on an M3, but the non m would be hard pressed to fit comfortably.

OP. I think the offset is too aggressive. I think you should buy them, and flip them.

there are some older thin 5 spokes from the e39 or maybe even an older 7 series I've been after. thought about the M5 rims several times but can't do it, they loot weird and yes, do not fit easily.

Yes, those bottom wheels are OEM BMW. Bmw called them M System wheels, they are off of the E34 M5.

no those were standard 540 sport rims. these looked like really thin single spoke wheels

I saw a set of those 540 wheels yesterday. Too bad they wouldn't fit :( I loved the way they looked.

got to see the wheels in person. they were in good shape, tires were ok. While talking with the guy he got phone call from another person interested in the set. We managed to get $300 from the other person. So the original seller got his $200 and I got $100!! lol I cant be happier! lol

EDIT: the wheels were in fact replicas.
