hmmm. Not sure I like that chirp. Is that really how the stock alarm sounds? I thought different.

Ok. I am glad I didnt spend 300+ to put the stock alarm in then (it would have been just for the chirp). If I get bored one saturday I might do this mod just for the heck of it. Thanks for the link!

interesting. yeah that sound is a touch annoying. i think the flashing red clown nose does enough to keep people away thinking its an alarm.

actually...look on page 3. Post 50. I like that chirp. Sounds like what I think other BMWs sound like, and is much more quiet and refined.

Sweet. That is pretty darn cool. Um, my trunk says "pre-wired for BMW alarm system" but when I lock the doors neither my clown light nor my indicators flash - I'm assuming my trunk is lying to me?

I like my chirp. :shifty
It can be wired and nothing is activated. Could be a coding thing?

At least it's not super loud. My vette honks when you lock the car. I always feel bad for the neighbors. Especially if I left something in the car that I have to go back for.

You have to have that option 'turned on' by the dealer or someone who is capable of doing such work. Mine did not flash when I bought it but I had a buddy 'turn on' this option

I think every e46 was pre-wired for it. That doesn't mean there's actually an alarm there. Just the wires, harnesses, etc.

My lights blink and so does my clown nose, but I haz no alarm. I like it quiet when I lock/unlock the car but depending on the db of the siren you install, it's not too intrusive. I def. don't like those loud honks. My wife's Honda Pilot is quiet the 1st time you push the lock, but if you push it again, it honks.

Whoops, I guess I "lied" to my insurance company for the alarm discount then... :shift

Interesting. My 09 135 hS no alarm, but is prewired. Is bmw the only car maker to not make alarms standard in 09? I mean damn. But i am interested in having the clown nose blink. Im pretty sure mine does not. I would like to know how to do that.
Edit: no blinky. I just stared at the car for a whole minute out the window. no lights.

The clown nose blink and lights are able to be coded in with no alarm present :ninja

OEM alarm FTW! :biggrin
Haha Rando, something my vintage ZHP has that your fancy new '06 doesn't! So there!! :rofl
For those of you with the factory alarm, if it starts going off all the time for no reason, replace the hood sensor switch... Ask me how I know. :shifty
