Need help with wheel color....pretty please

I think I'm going to bite the bullet on some APEX ARC-8 wheels. However I'm not too keen on the color choice. I think I want Hyper Black, but a part of my says Satin Black.

These will be used for Track and AutoX...may leave them on for DDing (or throw the OEMs back on).


Right now I'm thinking of going 18x9 ET 42 all around. I'll have to run spacers with this, but I can run a 255 or 265 tire and if my car ever gets classed into STR I can be legal.

I initially wanted to run 18x9.5 ET35, but this wheel is too wide for STR, and it will be an expensive mistake if I want to run STR and buy new wheels.

The widest tire I can throw up front is 265 anyways, and I can get away with that on a 9" wheel....I do it now with my OEMs (18x9).

I had anthracite arc 8s on my 1er, loved um. Gets my vote. hyper black looks too chrome like to me.

Silver rims are the way to go IMO. The hyper black and anthracite rims look they are dirty with brake dust (not a good look).. And I don't think black wheels good.

Realistically, the wheels will be covered from brake dust. I run HP+ pads

Silver. Its a nice contrast with red. The "in between colors" dont contrast enough. Black is cool, for a show car or something you are trying to show off, but as a track car no. Plus since they are track rims, nothing is more badass than silver rims and a shitload of brake dust from running the car. And its not like you have the rims to keep them spotless anyway.

Kyle, if you feel hyper black is too much chrome for your tastes then I would suggest Anthracite for your Imola. It should go well with your car :thumbsup

Anthracite. All the way!. Gives a different look from stock and hides the brake dust well. Have used that color at the track for years .Best of luck with the ARC'S

Depends on how my car gets classed for SCCA.

One class has a limit of 9" wheels, another wider.

The 9" I'll have to run decent spacers, as to the 9.5" I will only have to run rear.

This is why I need/want to wait so I get the right wheel

Yes, I do as well...but they weigh 26 lbs a piece.

New ones will weigh 18 lbs, which is a drop of around ~200 lbs or sprung weight!
