View Full Version : No shortage of accolades about the ZHP in the new Bimmer magazine

Just back from the mailbox w/ my new Bimmer magazine (it's always a good day when a new issue arrives)...they have a nice write-up on the E46 330i/xi/ci, nearly half of which talks specifically about the ZHP.

It does seem they got some of their facts wrong however -
They quote the package cost at $3600 when it was actually $3900
They quote the automatic rear diff. at 3.38 when it was actually 3.64

Nothing to get a fuss about though! One thing that did surprise me, and not sure it's true, but the article states only 8% of ZHPs built were ordered with alcantara seats. Seems low to me :dunno

Anyhow, good article if you can get your hands on it. Lots of nice things said about our cars

Nice. Is it just "Bimmer Magazine?" I don't really pay attention to car mags at all - I'm more of an internet guy. 8% is definitely low, ZHPregistry.net (N = 1342) has it at 26.6%

EDIT: Oh, i see you're in seattle too! Where may I ask? I'm in the U-district.

any chance you could snap a few large pics and post the article for us?

Hey guys, (thought I posted this morning but must not have actually hit post), the ZHP Mike Miller recommends on pg. 57 of the mag (pg 3 of the pdf posted) is the one I'm picking up this weekend! Very excited...I'd already narrowed that one down to my shortlist and then the EAG guys sent me an advanced copy.

Mmm...I think it was different between the various platforms.

I recall Car and Driver listing it as a $3900 option so yes, I think it was different.

Nice reading a good article about our machines.... it's very true that the e46, e39, e53 are the last of the relatively uncomplicated bimmers. The only "newer" car that comes close is the e82...

My window sticker says $3900.00 for a 2005 sedan... also EPA rating on the sticker is 20 MPG city and 30 MPG highway which is higher than the article states

Holy smokes. It's essentially new... I'm sure there's a market. I really wonder why people buy these cars and leave them in their garages for 8 years w/o driving them.

Howdy gents. I temporarily pulled the scanned article upload until the Boss can weigh in and give it a thumbs up.

A link to an article or cut and paste of a snippet is ok, but copying the article in its entirety and posting is an issue.

Hi, guys. Let's not scan and post entire articles. It's a copyright violation. You're depriving the magazine company from selling issues of its magazine to people who would not otherwise have access to a scanned article.

If you have a link to the magazine, please post it.

Sorry - guilty party right here :hi

Bimmer has a website w/ some of their articles posted, though this article is not one of them...

^Lol-- no worries. No malicious intent.

The Boss, who was a news reporter for a long time, dealt with copyright issues so he's given me an education on copyright infringement over the past few years.

The verts were $3600. Same for mine. My logic for that is at that point, it's pretty much M3 territory so they reduced the price. Window sticker was $52k

Where is the article? I don't see an attachment anywhere in the thread.. maybe it was pulled down?

It was pulled to prevent copyright violation.
