Well the bike has about 4k miles on it.
M3 has about 15k already. Less than a year.
ZHP probably only got like 1k since I got the M3.

I total probably close to 30k a year.

Quick update is my dealer has about 5 sport airbags coming in and the Zhp will be having it done in about a week or two. If anyone else live in the western mass area please pm me so that I can arrange to have one held for you as well.

Placeholder for clutch replacement.

So my clutch went out about 6 months ago while I was on my way driving back from NYC. I had to get the vehicle towed off the highway and then towed all the way home. It was an easy 6 hour day with towing and waiting. I had originally tried to take the transmission off and couldn't get the tranny bolts off without applying way too much force as I didn't have the right tools to brace the transmission and align it with the engine while trying to take it off. I ended up burrow an engine hoist to actually remove the front end of the car and pull everything out altogether. It was much easier imo to do that as it only took about an hour to take off and remove the engine/transmission from the car. The vehicle had about 186500 miles on it when the clutch went.

34374
34375

As you can see I eventually got the tranny bolts off and had to rethread the holes to make sure the bolts went in and out smoothly. The clutch was completely toasted. I ended up ordering parts from FCP euro. It was my first time doing a clutch job and honestly, it was a great time to get a better understanding of how the transmission and clutch worked. Total cost ended up being around $900 dollar in parts including some other additional stuff I needed to do to the vehicle.

I just ordered the new eonon unit this past weekend. It's a great deal considering it's only $277.00 shipped. I had one of the first eonon units when they first came out and was looking for an upgrade. Couldn't really pass up this deal to actually have it integrated with my google pixel 2. I will update everyone once I have it and installed. The deal ends at midnight tonight on the 26th.

Sent from my Pixel 2 XL using Tapatalk

I like the kit overall. Simple and easy to install. You don't need a bearing for it as I didn't realize any of them fit. I'm not sure why people say there is chatter or noisy however I haven't really experienced that myself. The reason why I went with the kit is that the flywheel was also gone as well.

Also installed new M3 brake pads and rotors all around.

It's not bad overall. The boot-up is a little slow compared to older models however it works just as expected. So far no glitches and overall good on Android 10 and car play. I haven't tested it with Apple yet.

I also printed out my custom trim inserts so that I don't have to worry about things breaking when I pull the trim apart in the future.

I replaced my headlight lenses as they pretty much got killed due to the CA weather and age overtime. This gave a really massive improvement with light output and visibility. I do have AL headlight housing with a ZKW glass inside which I swapped since I wanted a clear lens rather than the AL lens with the line. Inside are morimoto d2s 5500k (https://www.theretrofitsource.com/d2s-xb-hid-B-D2S?quantity=1) which are from retrofitsource 2019 (they don't have 5500k anymore it seems). I also took apart the ballast and double check the wiring to see if there was any exposed wires inside. Overall everything seems good but I don't have some flickering with the headlights which I am working on tracking down. I do believe it is due to a bad ground or something.

It might be my eyes playing tricks with me, but my friend's sedan ZHP had nice sharp cutoffs like yours. My coupes are much less defined.

New front lenses and AL Xenon makes a pretty big difference. I'm just not sure why they keep flickering on and off. May be a bad connection or wiring just going bad.

Yep, I drove back cross country to Boston. So looking to stay here for a bit. I haven't really spent too much time maintaining it like I would've like but getting back into it now. There is just so much to do now. Plus I do have the E36 M3 which is a complete project as well.

With the coupe the lenses aren't replaceable which means you can buff them out and put UV coating on them. That's about the best you can do with those I believe.

For the coupe you can remove the headlight lens (not sure if you can source new ones though) and work on them without having to deal with the entire headlight assembly but you need to heat the butul tape which helps seal the lens to the headlight assembly. It is a real PITA process but can be done. At this point if you are able to source new lens it is better just to replace them then reheat the butul tape and replace the lens and push them in solidly until you hear them snap back in place.

Man... Isn't having the Westfalia hitch great? Pretty appreciative of the pics you posted which I referenced when I installed mine.

And FWIW my coupe lenses are basically mint, so still not sure why the cutoff is not as defined. Could just be inherent in the projector design

Link seems dead but wow good to know! Bimmerjakes is way too pricey, I picked up a set a few years ago and long story short ended up making money after swapping lenses and refurbing them with 2K clear. If mine ever get a bit swirled I can always polish them just like paint because... It is paint

Sent from my Pixel 8 Pro using TapatalkYep it's pretty convenient with towing the trailer cross country. I think my hitch is slightly loose as in the socket or attachment has some play left to right but I can't confirm which part due to the trailer swinging out from black ice and hitting my quarter panels. I still have to address them in the future when I have some time to work on them.
