Hi all, after 3 years I had to part away the 330xi. I just had got it to run perfectly fine and all maintenance was finished. So back in November 2012 I was involve in a rear accident which cause my '02 330xi to be declared a total loss. This was right before the holidays so pretty bad timing in general. Total of 4 cars in the accident and my poor car took most of the impact.

After that I was in a search for another car all across the states. Check on e46fanatics, adhuntr, carfinder, autotrader and zhpmafia. I knew I still wanted a e46 and that it had to be a 3.0 engine. Afterwards it was a search for either the I or XI model. I wanted something a bit more fun than the XI so I narrowed to the I. Afterwards it was the decision of sports package then came the alcantara interior. I just wanted the alcantara interior and only the ZHPs' had it. Then it all came down to all the features I missed in my old car which was pretty much everything and either I could retrofit it into the new car or find one with all the features in the ZHP. My search went all the way to Philadelphia. After getting the insurance check and some money from a friend I ended up taking two megabus and a train to Lancaster which was a 10 hour travel. Ended up purchasing the car and drove it back in the evening. I didn't really check the car much besides the subframe however it seemed like it there was any problems I could just move the parts from the 330xi to the ZHP. I purchased it on Dec 24th and all is great after driving it for a few months. I am still adjusting to driving a manual but nothing too challenging. Thanks to Chad44 for all the help with maintaining the XI and being there for me. I'll get some photos the new baby once the snow settles down.

Welcome to the Mafia. At first I was looking at the pics thinking, that is NOT a BMW... Its a freakin' Hyundai! Then I scrolled... :shifty

Anyway, glad you're ok, sucks to lose one car, but in the end you ended up with something new and all is well. I know this story all too well... Congrats and welcome again. :thumbsup

Sorry for your loss, congrats on the new ride... Looks like the driver's-side fog light could use a bit of attention and a new cover...

Wow, they totaled your old car for that? lazy insurance.. bad adjuster.. Mine was rear ended and hit the car in front. Rear was swayed 3/4" to the right. I pulled it and fixed it straight as can be. Insurance paid the $4600 to fix it and I got all BMW parts to fix it. Surprised.

Anyway, welcome!

Well yeah they totaled the car. The whole frame in the back was shot too. I mean the rear door wouldn't close correctly since it was about 1" pushed up. The estimate about 8500 worth of repairs. Car was only worth about 8,900 or something like that. Either case I'm just happy to be driving a zhp now. Thanks again everyone. I'll have photos up once I get a car wash.

@Nivo - I got to see your ride when I come back to Worcester. How about this upcoming week?

It's alright Charles. Don't sweat it I know you are always welcoming.

Right before Chad showed up I just jacked my car and manage to have the jack spring it's handle up too quick and smack her. I couldn't believe that it actually happened. I'm quite sad now and will be getting a estimate for the damage. Hopefully I will get it fix before the reunion along with a few dents here and there.

ouch that stings. Time to get some foam padding on the jack bar as well to prevent this next time..

There is foam pad but it is on the bottom half of the handle which is pretty stupid of a design.

I've had lots of close calls with jack handles... Hopefully a PDR shop can pop it back out, then just use some touch-up paint...

That is unless you like the idea of re-painting... I've been told by many painters "There is no paint like factory paint." Which is why I still haven't had the blemishes on my car fixed...
