View Full Version : Should I paint my trim?

I can't decide. The car looks like it does in my sig but I should have cf splitters to add in the next day or two. Getting the front bumper touched up and my new mirror cover painted anyway. Might as well paint all the trim then if I want to.
Thoughts? I have some good contrast currently. The coupe looks clean with it though.

Having painted trim, I'm going to vote a confusing "no". Before I had black stripes and black mirrors, the black trim and black wheels created a really nice contrast.

But when I started messing around with stripes, the black trim was too much.

I vote no, but it's your car and you won't get flamed here if you do. But, since you did ask for opinions, it seems unanimous so far.

I think most of us sedan owners have thought about painting the trim. I think it looks ok having seen it in person, and I want to paint mine just to experiment. I'm going to vote a reluctant "yes". Maybe do a few photoshops of your ride to convince yourself.

Lol. Looks more like 9-0. I like the molding most of the time. I can't help but feeling like painting it would modernize the look of the car some. I have not seen it in person though.

Hmmm. I am thinking the contrast breaks up the red...

Agreed... keep the black trim... It breaks up the monotony of a single color.

^^I think this one works because it has a black roof, tinted windows, black mirror base plates, black grills, and CF splitters.
The last pic you posted, the painted trim looks too monotonous.

In the end at all about all the little things and how they work together. Do you have other long term plans for the look of the car?

Eh. Splitters, clears, and angle eyes, but that's probably it

You could try painting them another color besides body match if you wanna go all out and try something different.

Probably because coupes don't have trim to paint. lol

I've thought about painting my trim. To gloss black.
Then decided to PlastiDip them because they will inevitably get a nick or chip here and there. Not worth it. Once I do it, the trim will look brand spankin' new, instead of the faded grey it's starting to become.

I voted no. Mainly because of what ry said about the pics you posted. Hers looks right, but its because of other things. If you dont add the other colors, the car is both monotone and monotonous.

Aye. It's a easier on the eyes, rather than a blob of red (or any other color).

Yes. I already have the front and rear bumper trims. I al still looking for a set of the side trims so I can have them painted at the same time with my pocked marked front lower bumper. I think they would look great on Mystic Blue.

I honestly like both looks. I think the black trim gives the car a nice contrasting character, and at the same time (when painted) I think it looks really clean...
If you don't like it, I bet you'll be able to find someone to swap with...
