I've been looking for a clean ZHP for months now, still waiting for the perfect car to pop up (alpine/imola, natur interior, 6spd, Where are you!?). I'm grateful to have access to this great resource for these cars.

From Central NJ, and currently have an 89 m3, do a lot of the maintenance on it myself (but won't touch the engine besides oil changes, coolant flushes)

Here's the M3 while doing all the rear bushings, and tie rods.

Here she is all back together.

Mmmm, love the AW E30 M3s... My buddy had one just like that, but with black interior. Such an awesome car. Good luck with your ZHP search. Alpine white is almost impossible find, especially considering some idiot wrecked one recently... :facepalm Ask me how I know. :rofl

Imola is fairly easy to find, it was the most produced ZHP color according to the registry. Natural brown interior, good luck with that one too, in any exterior color. You looking for coupe or sedan? What about cold weather package? Have a preference for year?

thanks for the welcome!, and Thanks again Bruce.

It'll have to be a sedan as we have a little guy with a massive child seat :) And the AW/Imola on natural is just my ideal, In reality I'd go for a clean car with any interior but light tan.

Welcome!

So one question, coupe/vert/sedan? You didn't specify so I assume coupe

Sorry Thought I specified!

Looking for a sedan, need the 4 doors for our child.

In the words of DW... Fo' Dohs fo mo.... well, you get the idea... :rofl

And I'm in the same boat. Little one at home and the car seat needs adequate space. A coupe with a backwards facing car seat would be impossible...

Welcome. I love that e30. Never let that gem go. Heck if your doing suspension work you could definitely delve into the engine. Good luck.

ZHP + E30 is indeed quite the combo.

I've posted this one before but seems it's the only shot I have with both cars. The "featured" mystic ZHP in foreground belongs to a friend. Sapphire ZHP in background, M3 obviously the one inside the garage.

Thats a great shot, I always feel guilty using the M3 wing as a shelf, but its too perfect not to be used as one.

Are those 135's on your e30?

aurelius
01-15-2013, 03:03 PM
Yes, the tires on the 135's were shot about 2 years ago, so I swapped wheels with the M3 until I decided which tires I wanted. You can just barely see the 17" Style 68's on the sapphire ZHP in the pic in my prior post. I was running those on the M3 for a long time. Was a great look but have since sold them.

Hey man, i'm a new member originally from your area...shoot me a pm, it'd be great to meet up once we get our ZHP's. Don't worry though, looks like I'm after a different car 6 spd sedan;blue, grey, or silver, with leather interior - no competition from me at least!

I did see a red one at Delaware Valley Motors a few weeks ago. Drove quite well, had a few maintenance issues taken care of, it was a bit rough around the edges, needed new tires, pillar trim was coming unglued etc. but they seemed like there was some wiggle room (did have quite a few previous owners though, I'll see if I can pull the carfax I ran)

Love the E30 M3! Good luck with the zhp search. As Jon said, NB is really tough to find, though IR with other interiors are a bit easier.

I'm in Somerset county, I did see that red one at del valley, a little high mileage for me, but its really helpful to hear your review of the car.

If I find the right car I'll pull the trigger on almost any color but silver or black, and any interior but light tan.. although I did see a nice 330i sport fs with tan seats re-dyed to cinnamon that looked amazing! so thats always an option. I really want something fairly low miles since i have a long commute, and don't want to be "always" repairing it... sometimes working on a car is is fun, but constantly is not fun.

With the e30 I had some 17 x8.5 BBS rs's on it, and they felt like boat anchors, really nerfed the handling/acceleration of the tiny engine, the 16's arent as peppy as stock, but definitely a nice compromise.

Welcome, much love for the E30 M3 from this guy. My first BMW was an 88 325is back in 2001 and I loved that car. I've driven a buddy's well-prepped autocross M3 in the STX class a few times and that car is such a dream to autocross.
