I love how he
a) spelled Alcantara wrong
b) calls it 'cloth garbage'

Hmm maybe I'll swap plus cash if I get this next car with black leather. Then I'll have the option of running alcantara or the natural brown leather that may or may not be sitting in my garage.... :shifty

So Mafia family... Do tell me... I am looking at picking up the new AW sedan on Friday... It has black leather. I could theoretically swing through and swap that out for this guy's alcantara cloth garbage... LOL
The question is though, what is more valuable to people, heated black leather or non heated alcantara?? Either way I'll be selling whichever one I end up with and putting my natural brown into the car.
So should I try and 'save' this alcantara for someone that really wants it? Or will I be able to sell the black leather that comes out of the car I'm picking up...
Thanks for the help mafia!

Alcantara is more desirable most definitely. Especially because it was a ZHP only thing that not all ZHP's got. You could have gotten black leather in almost any e46...
I wish I'd be able to trade him but apparently his seats aren't heated. And I would have a hard time giving away my black leather seats because they're freakin pristine and I'd be hard pressed to take away something that big from how my car came from the factory.

Ok, well, I sent him a PM... Like I said, I'm not too concerned because no matter what, my heated natural brown is going in my car. I'm just wondering where I can capitalize. I agree, black leather is much more available. The alcantara is more desirable in the performance oriented community.
I'm pinching nickels trying to come out of my incident without being too much out of pocket. I spent a fair share getting all 4 door panels and all the seats to put into my ZHP before she was sent off so that I could save my natural brown...
Anyway, I'm also pressed for time if I were to do this as I have to leave and go back to work on Monday. :(
I had Montana Brown heated leather seats in my Monaco blue ZHP coupe, and although I miss the color combo, I think the heated Alcantara in my ZHP sedan are more comfortable and unique. You can't beat 'suede leather' seats in the winter or in the middle of summer!!

That's what you have I think. All ZHP's either have "Montana Leather" or "Alcantara/Cloth". The Montana Leather came in Sand, Natural Brown, Gray, or Black.

And just for anyone curious... I was going to keep it a secret (I was told it was kind of amusing to watch some people stressing if I saved my natural brown leather)... But, yes, I saved the natural brown. The link that Bruce posted with the craigslist part out near me was the one. The girl was parting an '04 325i with black leather. I picked up the seats, door panels and wood trim to replace the cube... A big win...

I started a library but but never got around to adding any more than what I had for my car:

This is the reason why I'd have to seriously think about swapping interiors when the opportunity presents itself. I love not "requiring" heated seats in the winter but having it anyway. Looks versus functionality... Damn it!

So I had another question... These seats are not heating, so I'm assuming the rears do not fold... Is this an issue swapping over with my seats that DO fold down??

Yes. Big issue, as previously discussed.

the rears might still fold, it was a standalone option on sedans

Yeah I'd like to, but the issue of the back seats not transferring over easily makes me not want to bother. I don't have the time to deal with it... Way out of my way coming home with the new ZHP this weekend...

Well, turns out the rear seats were fold down, so I picked up/traded with this guy for the black leather that came in my car. The alcantara is in my hands now, and is for sale. See thread in the ZHP parts forum. :thumbsup
