Is a bad windshield cowl install the reason why I get air flow coming inside the bottom of the windshield when my sunroof is tilted open? It's been like that since I bought the car but didn't really care as it's not a huge pain.

I think mine made some noise regardless of the fact that the sunroof was open or now. Are your edges meeting the window missing or cracked?

I see the top has some space and pine needles sometime stick in the crack that I just pull out. But no water leaks.

Wet sanded and buffed the passenger side lens (ZKW). The AL lenses on the driver side are still very clear so when I order new lenses soon I plan to get AL for both sides.
I have some Lamin-X headlight covers on standby for when I buy new covers.
This was taken after one pass with wet sandpaper, I should've taken a proper before photo lol.

I can't imagine this is the case as beneath the cowl the windshield is epoxied to the frame with some serious material.

I coded the rear foglights, and replaced the rear stop and running light bulbs yesterday. There was a brief moment where I thought the switch was broken, as I tried to turn on the rears without the fronts on.
Also, I washed the car with meguiar's wash and wax.
Collinite 845 seems to be working well, even though it hasn't been washed for over a month.

Spent some time this weekend and replaced motor mounts, FCABs, and installed the ECS Tuning sway bar set. It is at the dealership getting an alignment and state inspection right now. It should handle far superior to the 2017 330i loaner that I drove to work this morning. Even in sport mode that thing can’t come close to the handling of my ZHP.

Agreed, the coupe/vert elephant ears, I mean mirrors, are ridiculous. For comparison, they are ~2" wider than the wing mirrors on my X3, and about the same height.
To answer your question, you can easily obtain TiAg M3 mirrors and they'll bolt right up (minor internal modification, but nothing bad). The M3 mirrors have body colored bases, so that'd be the only part needing paintwork IF you wanted to keep the ZHP look. Personally I prefer the black bases.

For my M3 mirrors, I bought them from someone who was parting out mods from his car... they are OEM M3 Mirrors that he did the ribbon cable work on for his 330 Vert. Thanks for the compliments.
For the AE's, I got Umnitza's, but they are a couple of versions past mine now, I think they are at V4 if I'm not mistaken.

Not for my car, but I began the process of deciphering illegible and faded maintenance records and transcribing them to a maintenance spreadsheet in preparation for selling my father's 1994 Mazda Miata w/ the R Package. The first owner drove about 10k miles in the first six months of ownership and was apparently a car/Miata guy. The R Package didn't come with leather seats so he made custom leather seats himself. They're so good I thought they were factory.

Installed a clutch stop and am REALLY LIKING IT! I bought the "Po' Boy" version from ECS Tuning for $10 (I tried to find the parts locally without success. The one's from ECST are straightforward, made well enough, and come with a locking nut, but I did run out and get some stainless fender washers to cover the carpet hole. I think it improves the gear shifting experience substantially. However, I do think some effort at getting it set very close to the engagement point is advisable because, otherwise, you're still searching for it. So far, I've had no issues with my car starting and seem to be getting full release (rpm's drop quickly when pressed, no noises, no smell...)--just release and it's there... smooth as butta. I do carry a wrench with me in case I ever need to make an adjustment... :)

I found Weisslicht bulbs way overpriced. They are great quality bulbs, they just charge way too much for them. You can get equivalent quality bulbs for much less at places like The Retrofit Source, or even eBay (if you know what specifically to look for).
Either way, buying them will yield you good quality bulbs.
Do avoid their fog light bulbs though if you have stock fog lights; they are WAY too bright in a non-projector fog housing. They are not designed to reflect the light properly in the housing.

This is good to know. I'd be curious to know which LED's you specifically went with for the RCR's (ie. vendor and how many of each for the rear lights) as I'd love to save some money.
At 100$ I agree they are extremely overpriced. I have a feeling I'll be returning most of them (I did buy the fog lights). I'm not even sure I got enough to fill out the rear lights and that would be hundreds more if I did all Weisslicht.

Mine are eBay ones. HOWEVER... I did notice that I get static with these when I have my radio on and the bulbs are illuminated. My rear Window glass needs to be replaced as my antenna is shot anyway, so I figured maybe it's just because of that, but I can't be sure unless I tried a different set of bulbs. I don't care much because I don't use the FM radio at all, but it bothers me knowing it does this. I'm hoping it's just because my glass needs to be replaced. Radio reception kind of sucks regardless.
Otherwise, they are excellent. Super bright in broad daylight, no hyperflash, and no bulb out errors.
Keep in mind, you will have to code out the cold and hot checks for your LED bulbs so they don't flicker at startup and at random times while the car is on.
This is what I have for brake lights:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Red-Canbus-25W-210-Lumem-LED-CREE-XP-E-High-Power-1156-5008-Tail-Light-Bulb-Lamp-/231134019756?epid=1332163336&hash=item35d0a940ac:g:H0YAAOSwh6xTrlyX&vxp=mtr
For some reason, the seller doesn't list the 1156 version of its amber bulb anymore, which is what I have. I just linked someone to it last week, now it's gone. Hmm...
You can get these from other sellers, but the bulbs are ever so slightly different, so I haven't tested them and can't guarantee their functionality.
If you want to take the plunge, search for: 1156 CANBUS CREE Amber

Been driving the car for 5 months since purchase with racers tape over the big split on the drivers seat bolster. Seat had cigarette burns from PO and was worn badly. Why this mess? Because the Bluetooth receiver/mic needed to in a line of my voice and front passenger, along with being hidden behind a steering wheel so any LED lighting doesn't distract. So it needed to go alongside and behind the steering column, behind the deck, and out into my glove box where my USB power and aux input is.
The cable for the dashcam was heavy gauge and to hide it I needed to run it along side the cables behind the pillar but not block the airbag from deploying. Got a bit of play under the headliner for flexibility. All of my windshield mount mobile phone power is wired along the front defrost vent and down behind the dash directly along side the fuse box, straight into the glove box.
I don't like wires showing at all and I like everything to be nice and clean!
Ouch, last I checked the covers for just one seat, upper and lower, were well over a grand.

Let us know how you like the Aukey dashcam please! I wanted to buy one but wasn't sure of the quality...

When I installed my auto dimming mirror, I used the factory harness for it which means it had to run from the mirror down the A pillar and to the fuse box... What a PITA. I feel your pain :)

The leather is still available for purchase?
Looking at RealOEMParts and Tischer's GetBMWParts.com, None of the Sport Seat Coverings show as NLA. There were many offerings. There were real leather and imitation leather in several colors along with all of the fabric combos. I checked the pricing on the black real leather coverings. GetBMWParts.com shows the upper and lower for one seat at $1,423.11, which is a bit more than my Lazer/Antracite cloth at $1,067. Not sure how much inventory there is on these around the world. When I ordered the covers for my driver seat, the seat base cover showed up at the dealer in about 3 weeks, but the seat back cover took about 10 weeks to arrive. It is possible that BMW contracts to have these made to order when out of stock (if so, not sure how long they would continue to do this given the age of our cars), which could explain the delay. Just shipping from Germany usually only takes about 5 weeks. BMW historically would keep Schwarz interior components in stock long after every other color went NLA. At least in the E30 world, not sure if that is still true for newer models.

I took the ZHP to my local guy to replace faulty OEM rotors that were installed back in November. They were vibrating heavily when breaking. It's nice that he didn't charge me for the parts or labor but considering I paid $1k just for pads and rotors all around in parts, I didn't feel bad. He also replaced the coolant/hoses/expansion tank and thermostat. $900 OEM parts and labor for that. Now she drives/brakes beautifully and is patiently awaiting a bath after this weekend's rain.
Oh, a few weeks ago I re-badged the car with the OEM 330i letters on the trunk. I know some ppl here are adamant about de-badging but I felt like the car was a bit misrepresented. I'm proud to have a 330i ZHP and I didn't want others thinking I de-badged the car because I wanted ppl to think it was anything other than what it is, a minty 330i ZHP that I'm very proud of.

No oil change yet, I was going to in August. The green goo on the passenger side was there a little bit back in May but not nearly that bad, and it didn't look fresh at all when I cleaned if off. Is that the a/c compressor?
Everything else is new since then (last time I had both plates off the car).

Any thoughts on the highlighter green goo? The drip I wiped off the sway bar with a paper towel looked like lemon-lime gatorade.

My only guess is coolant or brake fluid. Do you know what was used? Or power steering fluid leak you mentioned, but I don't know what PS fluid is lime green.

Maybe AC leak mixed with oil?
I hope it's not a rear main seal leak. Before jumping to conclusions and replacing stuff, I would take a lot of break cleaner and just clean up everything underneath, go for a short drive, put it back on the ramps and try to locate the exact source of the leak.

The other day I went to check a ZHP for a member here, and the seller showed me an invoice for a hood respray. I think it was around $600 just for the hood. The quality was really good.
Edit: I verified with my notes the seller paid $600 for hood respray back in 2009. Paint still looked great after 8 years.

I think the leak might be from the coolant drain plug on the engine block. Maybe it needs a bit of tightening or the crush washer is toast?

He did the cooling system overhaul and he used BMW coolant. Its in the FS thread here:

I think the leaked coolant (if it is a coolant leak), mixed with oil may look a bit 'greenish'?

Thanks for the data point. Taking it to one other place today. I'd rather pay for quality than regret a cheap job. The 1350 also includes respraying some OEM M3 mirrors that I bought to do the retrofit so all in its not a bad price.

Speaking of oil leaks, found mine. Cleaned it up and left it running for a bit. Turns out that the upper oil pan solenoid valve is sipping oil.
Brand new unit is around $1400. Luckily it has 3 O ring seals that can be bought separately and replaced for around $20.

Did the bracket snap? Is that a symptom of too much sideways?
And what are those sheets that you used for the aiming? I've been meaning to do mine, but don't have 50ft of level ground next a bare wall handy.

Too much sideways twisted the arm right off...as you can see it's not as strong as the control arm. LOL!!!
You only need 25ft...it's not that much at all!

I didn't have much time to listen to it tonight since the car's still up on jack stands (doing a coolant flush tomorrow) and it was after 11 PM when I finished (didn't want to wake the neighbors). That said...it does sound delicious. But definitely have to hear it in person to get a better gauge of what it's like.

Why?
The front they said they maxed out, and just couldn't get there without camber plates. The rears we assume is because every bit of rubber in the back (excluding the RTABs you replaced) is tired and groaning lol. I was going to replace all of those bushings this year anyway, so I might look into adjustable rear control arms too.
It's a pretty high-end shop (I had the cheapest car by a factor of 7-10 both times I've been there), but it's not like they tried selling me stuff. Just, "hey we think this is what you need, so if you get it and want us to put it on/realign after let us know." Their labor is pricey, sure, but they have done really good work both times, and were very communicative. I don't have a reason not to trust what they say, if that makes sense? Of course I'd love to hear your thoughts, sir!

I wanna post what I did not do to my long awaited car today, not being able to pick it up and drive it home after almost a month being apart :)
I was gonna have a reunion with my car after 3 weeks in a shop for suspension refresh etc (waiting for parts). I've been taking 3-4 hours of bus back n forth everyday too meanwhile [emoji36]
I was gonna take the Bolt Bus and take it from Portland (I live in Shoreline, WA) however, this happened.

I got injured at workplace, an unsecured super solid steel bar, more solid than most hammers fell right at my toes. Thank God that they're still attached. Well, hopefully I can pick it up next week then, if I can start driving manual car again a week after this :)
Be careful and be safe guys!!

Oof, must've been a hell of a pothole.
It was. I think it was the crater left over from the Bravo test in the Marshall Islands. I can say, however, BBS wheels are damn strong. The tire was trashed, big bubble with the bead cords showing, but it held air, didn't crack and the bend along the lip was actually small enough to not affect the balance all that bad. Not sure how other wheels would have reacted. No pics, but the string of profanity is still likely echoing...

Oooook. So I've been a ghost on here as of late. A lot of changes in my career plus medical issues have kept me away from a lot of the things I've enjoyed doing. Hanging out on the forums and working on my ZHP included.
On that subject, my ZHP has been parked for a year after I noticed the clutch slipping. Haven't had a chance to work on it due to the aforementioned issues. Well, now I've some time and I've pulled my baby out of storage. Super happy to have it at my house. Nooot happy that I literally haven't had any time to work with it. So I popped in a fresh battery/fuel and this was the result!!

First start in just over a year and it runs like a champ. Being that it sat for so long, I've already assembled a nice little parts list and much of it I already have. The clutch, as I won't have the time to do it myself, will be installed by a reputable indie shop. The owner is very familiar with the ZHP and I'm comfortable with him working on it.
TL:DR It's good to be back with my ZHP and on the forums again.

I plan on doing a fair bit of work to the car which will take awhile. But the basic maintenance needed to make it road worthy again is very minor. Post clutch job of course. Long term though I'll need some paint work done. The paint on my hood and trunk is very thin and didn't seem to take very well over the clear coat that the carbon fiber was coated with. So, I have a list of things to do but, I'm stoked to be able to do it :).

Thanks brother. They're nothing life threatening. Just requires an adjustment of my daily routine of sorts. But because of the battery of docs and professionals I've had to see over the last year, it's left little time for anything else. Adjusted parking brake, probably not perfectly even on both sides but as long as it prevents the car from rolling I suppose it's good enough. And then the 1/2 inch torque wrench decided it wanted to give up so I guess I'll be getting one of those tomorrow.

ouch. i can imagine the sinking feeling in your gut when that happened.

And Rim Wax on the other!

13 years and 101k miles. First time having a window regulator break. Left rear window regulator broke yesterday. Window regulator replaced this afternoon with new OEM. Replaced front left door lock controller, it hasn't wanted to unlock electronically for a few months. I can tell it wants to unlock. Something binding. Had to stop fiddling with it for now. The nannies day was over.
Nothing done on building the S54 for the M3.

Replaced a dead clock spring with one from a 325i. I would've liked a new one, but $21 is a lot better than $100+ right now. It'll be nice to have volume on the steering wheel and cruise control again...and to get rid of that pesky airbag light.

Anyone used Leatherique on M3 Napa?
I've never used it. I've used Lexol conditioner but really I don't feel a difference compared to just cleaning with water or a PH balanced cleaner.
I was just reading about leathers that are coated/treated and we all have that kind of leather. Conditioners only add oil to the surface which helps accelerate dirt and dust collection which wear the leather down. Physical fluid on coated/treated leather will not make the leather any softer but through increased humidity. The leather will absorb moisture and become more subtle just because of that and that is what people will feel when "conditioning" because of the increased humidity level.
I'm thinking maybe I can use a cold mist humidifier this week when it's 100° out and put it on an aggressive mode without flooding the interior thus causing mould! I'll report back later.
I'll dig up the article later on that I read and copy/paste it here if you want.

I scheduled a clutch job and suspension refresh at an import shop here in town today. The owner is German and had his own shop in Germany before moving here. He was very knowledgeable and well versed in the E46 and it's quirks. He even offered to source some new Weitec parts for my suspension. I'm so excited!

They're actually intense amber just like you see on 2000 Town and Country minivans with the amber halogens as DRL. Same as a Challengers I think too. Kind of hard to capture in a picture.

Agreed. I think it's that in the pre-facelift coupes the ring doesn't go all the way around, whereas in the facelift coupes, the ring does go all the way around. To me it looks like the car is either constantly surprised or on drugs.

Yeah, those do look better. Again, I think it's the fact that the rings are incomplete i.e. cutoff at the top like they are in pre-facelift coupes/M3s. Also, I used to dislike the ambers, but those I quite like.
