I had a set from eBay from a while ago...paid $40. I would probably do this again with a lift and air tools...I want better fitment but that's obviously not gonna happen with eBay brands. How is the fitment with bimmerbrakes parts?

Wasn't perfect, but lengths were spot on, didn't have the gap issue like I saw in your pic. Did you get it to line up? Any leaks?

I installed this yesterday! Car is finally FBO. This is a Mishimoto intercooler that I got for free in their e90post contest! I just have to write a review about it on the forum.

Quite a nice power bump as well. Expected is 20+ hp and I can definitely feel it

Kind of ZHP related.... Installed PSS kit on my 323ci yesterday and today. Slightly used Bilstein Sports that were on it will be moved to the wife's ZHP in a month or so with H&R sport springs. I had H&R races on my car before. PSS seems softer but handles better. Some of that may be because I basically took it to a neutral rake. Fronts all the way up and rears I removed the perches. I just did it because there is a MFest BBQ today and I don't have the blue mirrors put together yet. I will temporarily have manual red mirrors.

As for that red interior I'm not sure what's going on, I haven't been over there recently

I would say 2.78 out of 10. I say that only because of the smell of the old differential fluid. I almost threw up...until my brain realized it wasn't really a "bad" smell just very different from anything I'd smelled before. Otherwise, very straight forward.

Followed the guide on here for the diff and impee's for the trans mind using an 8mm hex bit since his is the 5spd.

Just have the fuel filter left for inspection II. :D

Can't replace the "lense". You have to replace the corner (Lense and housing).

Not hard at all. As Dane said, its an all in one bulb and housing. I used a trim pulling tool to pop the old ones out and its just a matter of aligning the clip on one end and a little notch on the other to the mating points in the body.

Took me all of 5 minutes. And I'm not the brightest crayon in the box when it comes to all things mechanical.

You may need a credit card or something that won't scratch to give it that initial push to get it moving.

Yes, I was referring to side markers. You do slide it toward the front of the car, a credit card or anything flexible and non-marring is helpful to get it started.

One other note, when you unplug the light hold onto the cable, that sucker wants to run back into the fender and would be a nightmare to fish out!

I just purchased an OEM M3 strut brace from Kijiji, and then realized that you need six special collared nuts for the install. They are $16.50 each at my local dealer. F^&*ing BMW!!!

I think you only need four if it's the CF bar. That price is still crazy though.

I had to do a first aid with #80 3M adhesive with the right C-Pillar panel cover. Fabric came off halfway. All things considered, the fabric went back in carefully with the plastic decal flattener. Now I need to purchase a set of C Pillar panels Anthracite soon. Heck I still have not replaced my A Pillar panels although I have new panels in my storage. Maybe JP can come over and we can do a quick replacement. If he can get away from his project car or some other ///M Fest gatherings.

Is there a DIY for the C Pillars panel replacement somewhere? It looks like a PIA since there are more to be removed to gain access.

You can use regular flanged M8 nuts if enough of the strut mount studs are sticking up out of the strut tower. That's what I use with my M3 strut brace, but I have extended studs from my camber plates. In fact I have some extras I can send you for free (PM if interested). But mine are not the collared ones that stick down inside the strut brace holes. I have ones that look like this:

Got it. No need to remove rear back seats and speaker panel. I might have to pull out the panel so I can do a better adhesive job. But it looks fine as is since I taped off the surrounding areas prior to spraying the adhesive. Just put down the C Pillar panels on my shopping list.

Installed OEM E46 M3 trans mounts on the wagon. The car shifts a bit smoother, and the gear stick doesn't vibrate as much in neutral. I'm happy with the upgrade/maintenance. Old ones were starting to crack, I think E9X M3 engine mounts are next on my list after the fuel pump baffle and tie rods.

Finally got the car back together about 11PM last night.

-OFHG, VCG, VANOS (Dr. VANOS), PS fluid swap and new reservoir/filter, thermostat, water pump, both sensors, expansion tank, all three pulleys and both belts

Colin also inherited my BWM PAI and CF Strut bar!

I’m curious what the intake has to do with bleeding the cooling system? Are you just concerned about running the engine without the intake installed (since the Perf one does kinda get in the way of the tank and bleeder screw)? You can run the engine without an intake installed, just don’t throw anything into the MAF.

I don't know what others mean when they say you can't feel a difference...I noticed it immediately. Shifts feel so much better. I feel the connection instead of wondering what is going on down there and having her buck between first and second.

A gallon of BMW smurf juice and a gallon of distilled water should fill the system if you emptied the block as well. Mix before ideally.

Mine didn't take quite that much. Be sure to open the bleed screw near the filler cap when you do the fan/heater.

I have tried that and a small pipe wrench, its slightly cross threaded :( I have bolt extraction kit on the way to me right now. The z4m fcab's are somewhat difficult to get lined up, the first side was difficult but all went together right.

His fill practice made me nervous. He took off my cap and bleeder screw and filled it until it came out of the screw and said "ok done. Tomorrow just add a bit more to get it to normal and your good to go."

He doesn't seem to subscribe to The typical ONE WAY ONLY fill/bleed procedure they do over on e36fanatics.

I am about to drive back into SF so fingers crossed I don't overheat on the golden gate. Haha

The (reprogrammed for smaller buffer) temp needle stayed right in the middle the all through the freeway, bridge stop and go, and SF hills. I ran her through the rpms a few times to be sure (love love this car) and it didn't budge at all. No coolant or engine lights. I am very proud of myself for doing this.

This was easier than when I changed the DISA and intake books. The hardest part was jacking up the car and the coolant hoses. Little guy that I am, I didn't have the leverage to lift the car with the jack we had (I was off the ground), nor pull the hoses off. Friend got a good chuckle and helped with those parts. Everything else was very straight forward. The water pump had dried coolant all over it and the whole front end sounds much quieter with new pulleys

The final touch was replacing my faded and stained rear shadow line trim. The PDC part had to come from Germany since its such a rare option here, I guess. But all 3 pieces were cheap and easy to replace:

I can see that. Maybe it helps get any air bubbles out as well? My car did sit in stop and go as well. I also added a 1.4 bar cap. I will keep an eye out for any venting.

Anyway, to address a previous comment, I still have the skill to park very well despite having PDC. I spent my 20s in SF after all. I just like the extra amount of insurance that PDC provides.

My roommates Infiniti has that around view camera system. And I have to say that is very neat. You'd have to try pretty hard to curb or wheels or hit anything with that system.

retrofit PDF sent to those that requested

Not BMW related (other than I had to bring a BMW out of the garage to work on it) - Acura TL

in 2.5 hours this evening I installed all four new rotors, new pads, flushed the brake system, installed 6 new spark plugs (the back 3 are a PITA), changed the oil, rotated the tires, flushed trans, new trans filter, new air filter, flushed power steering fluid, flushed coolant....

and washed it after doing a deep clean under the hood (and all the cover panels)...from the left over salt, dirt, etc

I still need to do the timing belt and the water pump and adjust the valves (WHO WOULD HAVE THOUGHT THESE NEW ENGINES WOULD STILL HAVE THIS)

Now X5 is on the lift - I need to raise the rear suspension a little (takes only a few minutes) but I need to modify a small section on each fender to keep from rubbing (both sides have the same spot pulled down and is digging into the tires)

Then, the wagon can go back in the garage for the first time in over a month while I have been working on the tii - just in time for us to be away in Bermuda

Hawk hps pads all around, tranny fluid changed with redline mtl and diff fluid changed with redline 75/90. Shifts feel much smoother. Although the mileage is at 67xxx, the fluid didn't look too dirty. Good thing i have good friends to help because I only had one hand to try and do the maintenance.

Well you see what had happened was..... I was flying Thursday night and the lower crew door/stairs fell open in flight, I went to try and close them before we had to land but both cables were snapped that we're holding it in place. So I grabbed the aft part of the hinge to pull it closed. Well the wind slammed the door shut which was expected but my finger shifter and got caught in the apex of the two hinges. Needless to say we came back to base immediately and they sewed my finger back. Was not fun. I just walked out to the plane right now and found a nice mess.

I filled up the Mini. The red warning was on already. My total was 42 dlls approx with premium gas.

Bought the ZHP some new shoes.

After a 5 hour round trip I was able to snag a set of 162s with fairly new rubber and a full set of spacers and the longer bolts for one hell of a deal.

Over all I'm happy with the purchase and I'll take some pics tomorrow in the daylight.

One dealer close to my house is selling this 2006 ZHP vert for $12,000. It has 122,000 miles and is in good shape. I didn't know you need to hold the button to open the top, which works fine.

This car is not in their website yet, I will post in the FS section once they add it.

The sealed enclosure can handle a lot more power because of the reverse pressure, and should produce tighter, punchier bass. The free air I believe in theory goes lower, but in reality and in a convertible this is likely irrelevant. I don't know which is supposed to create higher SPL.

BTW I'm sure there's a lot of you much more knowledgeable than me in car audio so please feel free to chime in. My knowledge is 20 years old and mostly faded due to more important things replacing it in my limited brain capacity! :)

This one plugs into the OEM setup (but I still have to get an amp specifically for the sub). That enclosure was done by an enclosure company that specifically has a model for the E46 vert. Included in the URL below is a pic of where the sub sits in the car.

Technically, the only reason why the sealed seem to handle more power is because it actually requires more power to move the cone in a sealed box vs. an IB. Both would have similar SPL characteristics. The IB is more efficient and you get a deeper bass vs. punchiness of the sealed. Of course, if you use an EQ setup with the IB, then it'll sound more or less similar to a sealed enclosure. But sealed is easier to setup because of it's inherent protections.

Just ordered a new lower intake boot today and temporarily sealed the old one with some silicone. It took forever to cure but it set nicely and has partially alleviated my odd idle. I'll just be glad to see the UPS guy next Tuesday.

One dealer close to my house is selling this 2006 ZHP vert for $12,000. It has 122,000 miles and is in good shape. I didn't know you need to hold the button to open the top, which works fine.

You can program to go up/down from the remote, but you still have to hold it.

As for Ness, I had a small hole in one of the wheels I picked up recently, so it wasn't holding air. A $20 weld later, and it's holding. Yes!

I went to one of those when the current x3 came out. They gave me a sweet coffee mug and let me take both the 28i (back when it was a NA 6-cylinder) and the 35i out by myself. That was the first 35i vehicle I had driven, both were very sweet.


Shawn and I replaced the power steering reservoir, flushed the fluid, checked the DISA (all good) and last but not least..

I don't know what others mean when they say you can't feel a difference...I noticed it immediately. Shifts feel so much better. I feel the connection instead of wondering what is going on down there and having her buck between first and second.

I've been MIA again, life is NUTS! Ordered and received (yesterday) my adjustable end links, but my knee is out of commission (torn meniscus, cortisone injected) for a few days. Hope to get them put on Monday or Tuesday evening/night. Hoping the new OEM's I wrongfully put on there are still good enough to sell. Also hoping all the "clunk"ing will disappear, its pretty annoying!

Trying to figure out what is "next" I'm pretty well caught up on maintenance and mods. I need to research about O2 sensors, mine are all still original.

EDIT: Oh wait, no I'm not. What all is included in Inspection II? I've probably done it all already. Is is bad that I've been too lazy to reset the oil/service indicator? I need to do that in conjunction with Inspection II, which is why I have not reset it.

Rear tires are nittos not sure what model. And the fronts are some brand I have never heard of but the rears probably have half their life left and the fronts are brand new.

So I will report a small review in the future.

Filled up the gas 100% since I didn't want to keep filling up halfway every other two days.

Now she feels fatter and slower.

Scraped going up the hill to where I live, when I usually never scrape that one part of the road. I guess even after 7,000 miles the Konis are still settling in.........can't even speed through the 240-degree on-ramp merger on the freeway anymore since the rears rub like crazy.

In desperate need of a fender roll but at the same time, no time to spare to leave the car overnight to have them rolled.

Sorry to hear about your ground and tire interaction issues. That's why I don't plan to change my ride height significantly, I don't want to start rolling fenders and the like.

I'm sure you'll get everything sorted out and enjoy the mods! :)

It's not that, the tires have been hitting the inner fender lining gunk.
Even before I replaced the stock shocks with Koni's, ModBargains was already telling me that I would need a roll in the rear to be able to fully "drive" with the new wheels I got back then.

Still waiting for some time to free up to get them rolled and the gunk removed, then sealed...

Well I've been babying my car recently for no particular reason but today I really opened her up going up the Twisty part of Route 8 in VA south of I81. For those of you who may know that section of the road that's extremely curvy and uphill going through the deep woods. I had the road to myself and did some spirited driving through the 1.5-2 mile section of extremely twisty road. Really enjoyed the gobs of torque this car has to pull me out of corners uphill really quick!

Spray with penetrating oil. Buy an o2 sensor kit from Autozone and use the half inch offset piece and a breaker bar. It should come right out with a few turns. I took mine out with out penetrating fluid. Granted I had the headers out...
