Well, I found a clean ZHP a few hours north in Tennessee and drove up to get her, she's beautiful. '05 6sp, Graphite with black leather interior and black cube trim. Dinan intake, exhaust, stage 3 software, throttle body and sway bar. Drives beautifully, and looks the part. It's good to get out of that rental.

Congrats! SGM was my initial search color, I always loved that color. Options on that one sound great. More pics?

Only two more at the moment, I'll get more up soon. SGM was my initial search color for my first ZHP too, along with Silver Gray. I like gray things, hahaha. I have a list of future mods compiled though, I have $4100 left over from insurance to do whatever I want with.

Oooooooh that's tempting..I have some transmission things I want to do that I had before, UUC shifter rod and stainless clutch line, M3 LSD 3.73 rear end, and after that comes the suspension. And I think I've just decided what suspension setup I'm getting, hahahaha.

Just hit 69,000 the other day. Mechanically it's in fantastic shape, though on the rear left bumper it looks like a shopping car scuffed it or something, and the headliner is sagging just a tiny bit. Easy fixes when you have money from insurance. I just really wish it had the alcantara and silver cube of my old car.

the swapping is the easy part. it's finding good condition alcantara coupe seats that will be the challenge!

give the black cube some time. i REALLY wanted silver cube trim but i couldn't pass up my car. so i settled. that was the only thing i settled on actually. but i have grown quite fond of the black cubes to be honest.

I like the black cube too, it's just that it's a little worn on the driver's armrest and it's just too dark and monotonous with the dark exterior. The Silver cube with my performance pedals will really liven up the whole color scheme and also won't show wear as much.

i hear ya. the pedals will help. you can take a sharpie to any scratches on the black cube and it will look decent. but it is easier to nick up than the silver.

another thing you can do to change up the dark-ness of the interior is to put in grey "M3 style" gauge faces. i got the idea from UDub (Seth), who did it first. i got them from Bimmian.com. they are $50. you lose the little 6800 RPM squiggle mark, but I'm Sharked so my redline is 7k anyway...

here's a couple pics for reference:

Might be worth just buying it new from the dealer, especially with that extra insurance money. Everything can be had for just under $1000 shipped from thebmwpartstore.com - that way you won't have to worry about quality.

Something looks messed up with your gas needle and MPG needles. They seem to be resting way too far left.

And as someone who has an M3... the gray faces are probably my least favorite part. Not enough contrast with the numbers. If I could get OE-quality black faces, I would

It's $730.72 before shipping for all 8 pieces from ECSTuning when I priced it out the other day.

hmm you're right. it appears i didn't locate them properly after replacing the cluster face (I love the grey personally and have gotten a few compliments on them). I don't pay attention to those needles much so i guess i didn't notice. although that explains why after a fill-up the gas gauge only shows 85% full. i'll fix it tomorrow. nice thing about the gauge cluster is it's easy to pop in and out.

@ BCAN.....The black cube trim can be painted to fix any scratches. I had a re-dyer fix the wear on both front seat bolsters, the armrest & he repainted the drivers side door pull arm for $100. Looks brand new.

^do you have alcantara or leather ? It's pretty cheap for all that.

I repainted all my black cube with Krylon Satin black... $3 and looks brand new. Just gotta be careful and spray very thin layers.

Calling up the scrap yard ASAP, but the Black cube is quite nice...I don't know, I will decide soon, though I think I'll go with the Silver cube.

Buy the silver from the scrap yard and you get to have both whenever you want :)

Finding silver cube in general at a scrap yard is slim to none... good luck with your hunt. I would say best places to look are on forums; bimmerforums, E46Fanatics, etc.

That definitely is a good idea to buy it and have it around, I was just under the impression that you had to have something to replace whatever you took. Got her in Nashville, she'd just come in from Kentucky the week before on a trade-in.

Well I assume a junker's gonna buy the car and part it out. Maybe you could just get an early start on the parts you want before they end up available for sale to the public
