Hey Mafia,

2 interesting little quirks I've been noticing as the weather cools down. In the morning after the ZHP has been sitting (outside, covered parking) all night, my LED strip on the head unit gets pretty spotty until the car warms up. Anyone had this issue? Only happens when it gets under 60ish.

Second issue is intermittent and I'm not sure if it's related to the cold, but every so often when I start up the car, I'll get the passenger tail light error light. If I restart the car, it usually goes away, and the light is not out.

Thanks!

No help here on the led issue, but I would like to ask if you've performed the recall tail light fix, or if you've inspected them, to see if the ground wire is going bad?

1. Happens to me. Usually under 40 degrees though. Once the cabin warms up, it goes back to normal.

2. Tail light ground.

Hmm, I wasn't aware of the tail light recall... Sounds like that is the likely culprit. 50k is coming up, might have it checked out when I get my level II done.

Thanks DW, if BMW doesn't offer to fix it for free I'll be using your guide for sure.
