View Full Version : Car Stalling question

This morning while going to work I experienced a stalling issue with my ZHP.

Symptoms were: DSC and Brake light on, car stalling/bucking and loss of power.

I managed to get the car to a parking lot and parked it and shut everything down. After about 5 minutes, I put my key back in and started the car and observed no further issues in performace of the car. Continued on to work and parked it.

I plan to run PA Soft and look for any fault codes in the DSE when I get home. Wondering if anyone here knows what's going on based on symptoms I had experienced this morning? Any help would be appreciated, thanks... :/

Morning Charlie-- How old is the battery? I've seen low voltage issues cause some wild electrical gremlins over the years.

Same thing with me Charlie, it was the battery.

Yeah, I was told it was possibly the battery here at work. Will be replacing my battery today...thanks guys! :thumbsup

Yeah, the DSC/ADB systems seem to be a sort of canary for voltage issues.

I have had this happen too like a year ago. Ended up being the battery. Did that and the alternator which was way overdue too. Glad it wasn't anything serious!!

Okay current problem averted with replacement of a new NAPA battery :) Now to the next issue when it comes up :p OE battery lasted about 8 1/2 years....not bad....

The battery is only used to start the car. Once it is started ALL of the voltage and current is supplied by the alternator. The current is actually pushed back through the battery in the reverse direction, which is how it is charged.

Your alternator may be on its way out. Could take it by an advance auto and have them check the output on it?

had my alternator checked out - Sat. Ran codes and did not see anything. Car is running great now.....like her old self again...:)

problem turned out to be an 8 1/2 year old battery....time to change...
