Black Window Trim

As I looked at another E46 drive by, it reminded me that I need to black out my window trim since I don't like how the shiny chrome looks. Then I noticed it's already black! Ha! After a quick Google search, this seems to be a ZHP 'feature' that you don't hear about. Maybe other E46s come with blacked out trim too?

Yep. The ZHP came with glossy shadowline trim.

I don't know of any other E46s that came with the glossy shadowline. I do know that some 3 series came with flat/matte-black trim.

Yeah....my 2001 TiAg 325I had black trim....

i believe all early 323/325 e46's are all flat black, then 328/330 and xi's all got chrome line. after that, shadowline on ///m3 and ///m5 and 540 sport i think, then zhp, now part of sport package for all makes. my 1999 323 e46 had flat black. my e90 325i has black as well, though not shadowline.

Yep, of the 3-series line, I believe only the M3 and ZHP got the glossy shadowline.

I still don't get the point of ZHPs getting shadowline trim everywhere and still having the CHROME grills :(

btw, OP: Shadowline trim can be ordered and installed on any E46, I believe.

Speaking of black trim, mine faded badly for some reason so I decided to replace it, only the shiny ZHP version is expen$ive. So I opted out for the mat black version that comes with 325s and such. I really like it. It's only the bottom trim I had to replace but when I have to do the top I will go down this route again.

Exactly correct! Also to add, the E38 740i/iL Sport and E53 X5 Sports were the first to have Shadowline. Now anything with a Sports Package has Shadowline
