What are some recommendations for cleaning the interior windshield? I always seem to have that film left after cleaning. I've tried windex, windex vinegar, using newspaper, etc, but there always seem to be either streaks or that film that's hard to get rid of. I don't recall that with my other cars.

SprayWay. Best interior glass cleaner. And stay away from microfiber towels, they can leave stuff behind. Use natural brown paper towels or crumble up a piece of news print (no joke)

Invisible Glass. You can find it anywhere - Target, Kmart, Autozone, etc.
Plus Dane uses it too so it must be A1 :waldo

Oh, my specialty.

Invisible glass with a microfiber. It's best for an overall cleaning. Follow up with another microfiber right after to get no streaks.

If streaks appear, use that microfiber w/ no product and go over the streaks. It'll take em out.

What dalton said, no one ever does the second step. Use product once, then go back with a clean dry micro and it will be crystal clear.

+1... Personally, I use the Rain-X glass cleaner, but I have to agree. Clean the windshield (microfiber) and then afterward, wipe it again with a different cloth with ZERO product in it. Also, make sure the glass is cool to the touch. Ideally, clean it first thing in the morning before the car gets out in the sun/daylight...

Oh, and a lot of people use WAY too much product too. I typically spray 1-2 sprays only... A very light mist if spraying the windshield, or 1-2 sprays if applying to the microfiber towel...

I did my all my dads windows in his 2011 Chevrolet 2500 as he got them so messed up he couldn't take it. I ended up Rain-x'ing the outside AND the inside because the inside was that bad.

I applied the rain-x inside so I didn't feel like I was using sandpaper on the inside glass since it was so rough. Wiped off rain-x, applied invisible glass.. wiped clean with a clean microfiber and viola. Outside looked 10x better too.. as water that lays flat on windows irritates me to no end

Claying the windshield helps get rid of all the crap, then Invisible glass it.

BOOM!!!

Rain-X > Invisible Glass :biggrin

Seriously though, great info all around. I will also mention, I too hit the windows and glass with the clay bar and also with the buffer.

Try doing a two step method. Use a watered down cleaner like a dilution of Optimum Power Clean or Optimum No Rinse first. Follow up with Invisible Glass or BMW Natural Glass Cleaner.

Works every time, no streaks!

Plus BMW Natural Glass Cleaner looks awesome!

I must be doing it wrong. I have used all of the above mentioned products, enjoyed them all, but have been thoroughly impressed with SprayWay. However, regardless of product, if I use a microfiber (even with the two-step method), I can still see some streaks and even little bits of microfiber. Inferior towels? I have since changed to these window-specific blue towels that don't have any residue.

Do you clay the inside of the windshield too, or only the outside?

no need to clay the inside
