What's a good one to keep in the car? I have read that some good tire inflators can cause the 15 amp cig lighter fuse to blow when used withOUT the engine running...

If someone can recommend me a solid 12V Tire inflator that would be great...
(Bonus if it can ALSO be run via AC power in addition to 12v DC).

Thanks in advance...

I have this one. It works well and adds air quickly, especially in our low profile tires that don't have much volume. It is only 12 volts, but works in the cigarette lighter with the car on or off. Anything bigger will require you to connect directly to the battery. The 12v plug gets warm after extended use, but doesn't blow any fuses. And it comes with a carry case.

I like this idea. I might have to think about buying one.

There is also this though which is a lot more expensive.

I have this one. It is a bit big but also runs on 120 V.
My favorite part is that you can set the gauge to stop at a particular PSI. When you do that you can at least get equal pressure left to right.

Thanks much for all your comments and feedback - helped me a lot on my decision:

This is what I went with: (PIC below)

Viair P85 - just 12 V DC:

But because I wanted to avoid plugging into ci g lighter socket of the BMW OR some other older car which doesn't have a 15 amp fuse for the socket, I also bought this for $9; worked great off the battery directly from my Tbird battery - (ZHP battery is OEM - didn't want to risk it; Tbird battery is new):

Then this tire pressure gauge: Very nice with LED display:

All with free amazon Prime 2-day shipping, and i used the P85 today to inflate my flat ZHP tire (255/35/18) and it filled from less than 15 PSI to 40 PSI in about 4 minutes! pretty good. I especially like the brass valve stem fitting - most pumps have rubber fittings.
