Sooooo anyone know where I can find the factory one? The one that fits in the spot on the left hand side of the trunk.

Leatherz.com sells them, but not for the E46. ECStuning has one that is similar, but still not OE, at least I don't think. Been looking everywhere for one, I guess the dealership can't order them anymore either??

Got it. Thanks. Where in the left side of the trunk would this rectangular case fit?

Edit: Tried a search for parts...evidently they do not carry this item. Is this then Euro specific? And have to be special order?

Here it is straight from ECS: LINK (http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/ES5227_ES2063860/ES2063860/) $30

According to ECS, looks like that is the correct P/N. I could not be certain about the container since it is sideways. Unless somewhere along the years, they have evolved to using a red container. I have always thought of the container being blue. I have the "old style" on my M3.

Mine came from the factory with a warning triangle. It is in a blue container it has 1095457 on it. Not sure if that helps or not.

Could you take a pic of your trunk on where and how is the container mounted? I might just get the trangle container on my M3 and mount it on my ZHP. I think if you have the blue container, then they are all standard sizes? So, can't say for a fact since the ECS is in a red container. Thanks.

I have the blue case one in my trunk. If I remember I will take a pic of it and the mounting bracket.

Here is mine....Hopefully the part number can be made out on the bracket/holder on the first pic. The bottom plastic tray also has a notch in it.

This is the 'Aha!' moment. Don't think that is the P/N for the bracket. Maybe I'm wrong. RealOEM does not show any bracket...just the Triangle Container. Thanks for the pics. Now, on to trying to locate the P/N for the bracket. And also, that said, I now know the Triangle & Container that's on the ECS is not the real thing......Have you also compared the Triangle on your blue container to the red container if they are the same? This is the triangle that I have...I just added a few reflectors on the center flag.

I haven't taken out the triangle out of the blue container so I don't know what it even looks like. If I remeber corretly that is the only number stamped on the bracket. I had to temove it when I pulled the trunk limer when doing the susp. work back there.

The part # comes up on realoem, as: Warning triangle with container 71606770487
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts.do?model=EV53&mospid=47725&btnr=71_0182&hg=71&fg=05&hl=26

Looks like there were 2 previous versions...

So ECS one is OEM and it's a newer model than the older blue one.

Anyway to find out if they also carry the bracket holder?

Ordered both from ECS. Confirmed the proper bracket off Realoem, ended up getting one that doesn't fit quite right. I will post up part numbers after Show & Shine tomorrow

Where in RealOEM were you able to locate the P/N for the bracket?

There are 3 different brackets. According to realoem.com:

For the sedan & touring (up to 09/1998):
Bracket for hazard warn. triangle - 51478222928
ECSTuning shows it as a red/orange one = cool!
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/warning-triangle-mount/51478222928/
32218

I've only had the black bracket in my coupe & sedan:
For coupe, sedan & touring (from 09/1998)
Bracket for hazard warn. triangle (SCHWARZ) - 51478265682
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-bmw-parts/warning-triangle-bracket/51478265682/
32215

I've never seen the 3rd one - it looks like it holds the triangle to the floor vs. trunk wall:
Locking bow - 51718215277
