Hmmmz, I thought I posted this already, but couldn't find it, so I'll try again. Apologies if it is a duplicate.
We've owned BMWs since 1984. A few years ago we upgraded my wife to a 2003 330iA with sport package. In February of this year I was driving it back from San Jose and was rear-ended while stopped on a freeway on-ramp. The car was totaled. Got a good insurance settlement and went looking for a replacement.
At the used car dealer where we bought the 2003 E46, there was a Silver Gray 2005 ZHP. I knew they had the car, but she never liked a really stiff ride or back interiors, so I hadn't mentioned it.
Her: What's this?
Me: Performance package. Stiff ride, black interior. I didn't think you'd like it.
Her (to salesman): Can we sit in this one?
Salesman opens car.
Her: These are the most comfortable car seats I've ever sat in. Can we drive it?
It was late on a Sunday afternoon and they had been locking up when we arrived. But the salesman agreed and we took the freeway to a local twisty road.
Her: This is fun! I want it.
So we bought it. Since it is her car, it is an automatic (by choice, not necessity). But I still enjoy driving it, and I've also started autocrossing it. And it is a blast! I'm re-thinking my desire for an Estoril E36 M3 4 door.
Anyway, your site here looks well managed and informative - glad someone steered me here.
