Hello everyone.

After losing my 330ci in a divorce/custody battle 3-4 years ago (along with a loooooot of $$), I am ready for BMW ownership again.

This Sunday I purchased a 2004 ZHP. Silver. Cloth/alcantara. Nav. Manual. Coupe. 75k miles.

I got it from Chet Hernandez at Austin Motors in San Diego. GREAT guy to purchase your BMW from, great customer care.

I am a happy man again. For other reasons too, but now a well in the transportation emotive department.

I'm an architect, so am somewhat obsessed with form, function, and performance. This car has it all (for me).

I'll post some pix in the following week.

I have been following the group and looking nationwide for my ZHP for many months, and was lucky to find on my backyard.

Just wanted to introduce myself and say thanx for all the info- I know more about this car than any other vehicle I have purchased before.

I look forward to contributing to the community.

Hi there! I just became a member a few days ago too.
I'm also from SoCal and I picked up my ZHP from an employee at Brecht BMW in Escondido (it was her private car though, not a dealership sale).

San Diego seems a good BMW market.

Damn, I think that thing has every option. Cubes look silver but might be black. Do you have the rear sunshade also?

Thank you all for the welcome!!

It's black cube. It's the first one I have seen with the back up sensors. I actually love the rhythm of the sensors on the back bumper. It looks a little "M3" ;)

No, no rear sunshade. I'd LOVE to get that.... Is it an expensive-to-install option?

Thank you all again. I plan to keep her this clean. I just did a wash detail and wax today, even though the dealer cleaned it for me Saturday. The madness begins. I love getting to know her lines and curves. Did I mention I am obsessed with form?

Thanx Dennis. It's a 90. LOVE it as well, but it has to go to help pay for ZHP :(

Oh well, one fantasy ride at a time.
I was lucky enough to have driven/cared for her for a great experience.

True DAT.

I love the ZHP experience already, and the family has already added another dimension to ownership.

Nice!

I've grown to not like silver bimmers, but for some reason.. silver zhp coupes are just oh so clean looking.

thanx guys.

nike- i tend to agree... was looking either for silver or gray [but with specific options]... but the ZHP [esp in coupe] works in silver for sure. The depth of the color is really amazing in real life. For some VERY odd reason, I find it true especially in the door wells. So smooth and deep.

Welcome to the fest!

I'm a former Z-car man myself. Bought my boss's 4 yr old '73 240Z back in the day, then later a '78 280Z, then a '93 300ZX. Sadly, I have ZERO enthusiasm for the 350/370Z generation. Lousy driving dynamics, super-cheap interior (at least back when I test drove one in '04, I know the 370's have improved), and just no real appeal for me.

Thankfully, I have the proper modern equivalent in the garage alongside my ZHP. I guess I never really lost my love for the original.

Thanx Kevin. Quite the z collection.

I absolutely agree about the current Z field.
Nothing like the classics. At all.

Good to know you are a multi-level brother

Got to jump in on the Z talk.

Had '73 240Z - would still have it if it didn't get totaled on the freeway. PERFECT condition, recaro seats.
'78 (or was that '80?) 280Z - sold, started rusting
wife had 84/85ish 300ZX - sold, needed more doors/seats

love the Z heritage conversation.

Only other car i have driven that equals pure thrill like my BMW.
And, like the ZHP/E46, CLASSIC design lines ... pure seduction of form
