I've been looking to remove the trim on the doors at the exterior B pillar to wrap them in gloss black vinyl, but every thread seems to turn up with just the Chrome trim surrounding the windows. Well I stumbled upon the TIS for it. And it seems relatively painless :)

It also explains a phenomenon that occurs at highway speeds that's exclusive to Sedan/Touring models. Apparently the gap between the frame covers can expand to greater than the recommended gap of 0.05mm So get out your feeler gauge and adjust as necessary. This annoyance is commonly thought to be associated with failing door seals. Rule that out before replacing the seals and pocket the cash.

I replaced the driver exterior piece last year via this TIS. As you cited, not too bad, but take your time with the interior window gasket getting it properly "tucked back in". Observe its removal very carefully. The new piece installed sans the need for any adjustment - whew!

Justin, thanks for the aha moment! I've been recently experiencing that whistling noise from my window on the driver's side....now to get that feeler gauge and check it out...:thumbsup

Now I get to buy some paint stripper, any idea what to buy? Never done this before.

Why? They got paint in engine bay?

No I painted my chrome...now I'm going to strip it and wrap it in Gloss Black to match the new Perf Grilles.
