Somebody is treating their pocket rocket the right way! Opti-Coat on BR-Zs and FRS(s?) is spreading like wildfire!

Not quite a pocket rocket. Far from it

It's a figure of speech! Yes- the motor leaves something to be desired I concur.

Leaves a lot to be desired haha.

I sat in one today at work. Everything still felt cheap and plastic like. That, and it smelled like like new cloth (gross) and it was an autotragic. I'm not impressed by them.

Have you driven one? The chassis has a ton of potential. The motor could definitely be stronger and they should have shipped it with tires that aren't so shitty- but otherwise it's a great car to have on the market- hopefully it'll spark some competition.

Nope just sat in it. I already know what the engine is like, as I have driven dozens of non-turbo Boxter engine equipped cars and they're definitely sluggish.

I noticed the shitty tires as well.

The car is solid. The power isn't.

The car will dominate in SCCA. It still hasn't found it's way into a ST class, but when it does I'm sure it will be a class contender.

I guess I should have specified... I meant the interior felt like plastic. Use the HVAC gauges and try not to cringe.. I dare you

Yeah but use the E92 HVAC vents and try not to cringe...

Also the motor is redesigned and unlike the other boxer fours. It is much more refined, although there isn't enough edge. I actually prefer the newest WRX's motor, but the new boxer is a different breed.

I don't really mind the e9x HVAC controls.. but after being in a few audi's and a few F30/F10's I'm reallllly growing to hate the e9x interior. It's so boring.

F30, F10? Ahh yuck. The interiors are better than the E60/E90, other than that they are terrible, awful cars.

The interior of the new Audi's would cause me to choose them over some of the newer BMW's.

The f10 and the f30? I haven't seen one review or spoken to one person who hasn't absolutely loved them. I drove an F10 535 M-Sport today and it was freaking awesome. The new 5ers are definitely one of the best cars on the road.

Their steering is garbage and the look of both is not unique or distinct at all. The F30 is a better 5 series than a 3 series- it's huge and handles more like an E39 than a 3. You've never heard of a single person who doesn't like them? Really?

That doesn't mean I'm a fan of flame surface tension Bangle garbage, but especially the back of the both the F10 and F30 would be just as at home at the Buick dealership as at BMW. I like the interior.

Here are some not-so-hot reviews:

The F30 at Consumer Reports (http://news.consumerreports.org/cars/2012/04/driving-the-new-3-series-what-happened-to-bmw.html)

An excerpt from the C & D review here. (http://www.caranddriver.com/comparisons/2012-bmw-328i-page-6)

Our beef is that the primary communication between driver and road—the steering—is now pleading the Fifth. Please, BMW, remedy this fault...
But maybe that tire choice is emblematic of a new approach at BMW, one that values fuel economy and rear-seat space and comfort more than it once did. This diminishes the dynamic gap between the 3-series and its ever-improving competitors, even as it results in an empirically better car. Indeed, the 328i’s virtues are considerable, even with a bloated, $50,870 sticker price. But if  you’re put off  by this more mature, less ornery bull, find yourself a previous-generation 328i. New ones are still out there.

And the harshest:

http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2012/03/review-2012-bmw-328i-luxury-line-sedan/

So you’ve got the engine north of 3k and head into that curve. Can the Luxury Line 3er handle it? The car’s initial reactions set off alarm bells. The body heels over and, if the pavement gets wavy, the nose also bobs considerably. Body motions are more tightly controlled in a Buick. But, what do you know, despite all the swaying and bobbing there’s no weaving. The 3er adheres faithfully to your specified line. And while the feedback might not all be confidence-inspiring, it is at least still provided in quantity, through the seat of your pants more than through the fairly light, somewhat vague (yet still superior) steering. Oversteer is easy to induce, even easier to correct. Squeeze the go pedal just so (with the revs and thus boost up) and the rear end slides around beautifully, even gracefully. Squeeze the pedal a little further to…well, just because driving sideways is fun when you can feel confident that a touch of counter-steer will dependably bring the rear back into line. You can connect with this car, the bond just isn’t as strong, as engaging, or as rewarding as in the E90 (at least not in non-Sport form). Does this matter? If the car will do what is asked of it, must it necessarily do so with a smile?

Need I remind you that the 528i lost to the last generation A6 which the E60 itself beat. Not even the new one!
