Hey y'all,
I drive a sedan with Continental DWSs. Stock size. I just noticed that my tires are all at 29 lbs. I read the side door panel thing and it says 39 lbs.
First: what pressures do you guys run?
Second: will filling regular air in a nitrogen filled tire be bad?
Sorry for the dumb question. I am exhausted. Also this forum looked sleepy.
Best,
Pete

Top up with air.
I'm running 35 front/rear.

Unless you're doing major canyon driving, leave it at what the door panel says.

+1 to Danes suggestion. I'm pretty sure my door panel said something outrageous like 38 front and 45 rear. I just remember reading it and going holy shit that seems way to high.
As for nitrogen, it won't mess anything up. I think the weight of nitrogen is a teeny tiny bit less than that of a tire with air. And something to do with air can potentially cause corrosion. It's just a ploy to separate you from your money.

Really? My door says 33 lbs on all 4 corners. On my xi it was similar.

My door says 39 front 46 rear. I think I'm running about 40/43 right now.

Remember its dependant on tire size.

My door jamb says 39 pounds all the way around. Seems high, but I'm coming from my old E30 which took 32 all the way around. 40 was for serious auto-x.
I can't quite remember what the Connies say as their never exceed pressure. I think I might up the pressure to 36. In my (almost) year of relatively spirited but just pretty normal driving, I haven't noticed any abnormal tire wear at the current pressures.
I usually run by the mantra of, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it," but in this instance, I'm getting some noise in the tires and it feels a bit sluggish. I think about 36 will be good - should allow for good fluctuation in tire pressure.
Also, I only wanted nitrogen in the tires so I don't have to keep checking the pressures all the time.

The conti dws never exceed number is something ungodly high like 70 psi... If I recall correctly.

Oh! Well then. I think 36-39 psi will be fine.
On a side note, and this I did search for, what do you guys torque your lugbolts to? On the E30, it was 80 ft lbs. I read somewhere that it was 100 ft lbs for the ZHP.

We had a discussion on this before, and I think the number was in the 80s... something like 81. I do mine to 83 at the moment. Also, I run my tires at about 35 all the way around, I'll have to check the door jamb on mine.

Sooo...33 squared all around for me (we don't need to add any more understeer to our staggered setups IMHO). I run 38 hot at the track on my Yokohama S. Drives. Any more pressure then that, and the tires really loose adhesion and grip. Also, FWIW there should be small wear triangle markings on the sidewalls which help you determine how much the tire is rolling when you corner. I use these to check wear when at the track, though they can be helpful in checking everyday wear too. 85 ft. lbs. For the lugs, and I have yet to lose a wheel. ;)

Do they account for vehicle load here too, as they did on the e36 door stickers? More load = more PSI.

So people know what Brett is talking about, my tires:

You'll never see this roll-over on daily driving though. As you can see, this was early in the season and I had too much roll-over. I added a PSI to the fronts and it's perfect.

I am 36/40 on my sedan, stock size, conti DW's. Sticker says like... 32/38? But fully loaded is way higher like 38/46 (guessing there). The conti's feel sluggish and the higher pressure makes them feel a little better, quite possibly placebo effect, but whatever it's half between the 2 stickers anyway.

Any other VERT drivers reading this? Jon, Bruce, William, Gary, etc? What do your stickers say?

Mine had the same sticker as 328ioc's. When a tire shop said they were required to air up the rear tires to 46 psi per the sticker, I thought they were nuts until I looked for myself. I told them ok but went down to 33 all around before leaving their parking lot.
