Thanks, everyone! I'm fortunate to have joined before we stopped accepting new members, and it was just a matter of time before I actually picked up a car!
Based on research of detailing threads I ordered a bunch of stuff from Autogeek and am waiting for that to get here, but I was going to start this morning on the interior of the car and find that it looks as though my wiper fluid reservoir just started leaking.....like, a steady drip! What could have caused something like that? I haven't used the wipers even! Luckily, the PO included a brand new E46 service manual, so I will have to get acquainted with it sooner than I wanted to! OH, the perils of owning a Bimmer, right??
Thanks again! I'll get pics up soon! The car is filthy!

Welcome & congratulations! I would suspect the rubber grommet at the base of the window washer pump, if the leak is around the tank area. Keith may have some insight here too.

Yeah, oddly enough it just started today. Of course, I can't own the thing for one day before it starts up with an ailment! LOL

You have the cold weather package, so a separate pump off the windshield washer reservoir pushes fluid out to the headlights. This separate actuating pump is on the side forward, closest to the radiator. The seal in that thing is a problem, if the seal starts leaking since its down low on the reservoir itself, you'll lose your fluid. Check that first, and if its the culprit then get a new o-ring for that auxillary pump which washes the headlights.

It is definitely the pump that is closest to the firewall, so I'll take the tank off and check it out. The reservoir is pretty much empty now so I can look at it tomorrow after work. Sigh. I've never used the pump even, so how does it magically start leaking? Is it the "cooler (85 deg)" weather? LOL

Yeah, the payment process could have been a little better, but at least it worked out in the end!
Thanks for all the warm welcomes! Now if only my detailing products would come sooner!

You don't need to remove the tank to get that pump out, believe its one bolt holding it in or just the tight seal of that o-ring.
