Well tonight I really do not want to get into how, but some super clean (aka degreaser) came into contact with my wife's leather seat. It discolored it and also changed the texture of that part. Is there anything I can do to fix this or am I basically screwed and I need to just replace that section. Figures this would happen a few months before we were going to try and sell it. Any help would be great thank you!!

Take a picture.

That's weird- most strong degreasers won't change texture- usually it won't take dye off on contact either. Cleaning a seat with degreaser is different than accidental contact. Can you be certain that portion of the seat has never been redyed? Further cleaning probably won't fix the situation, unless the degreaser removed built up dirt.

I will take a picture and post it tomorrow. I know for sure the seat has never been redyed.. my wife and I got it new, and basically the degreaser was in a bag and we did not realized the bottle was leaking. The bag was set on the seat not realizing the issue when we took the bag off we saw the discoloration, on the leather. We tried to wipe it off and than it was if we wiped the top layer of leather off... This is a Honda CR-V btw.. so I know the leather is cheaper..

Yeah you're not going to 'clean' that out.

Best bet is to contact one of those fabric repair guys, I've heard of a few that can repair leather and cloth from interiors of cars from stuff like this and other things like cigarette burns.

Degreaser is nasty stuff man..

One of the loaners at the BMW stealer I work at had degreaser sit on it outside for a day in hot weather. Destroyed paint & glass. IIRC, the paint needed to be wetsanded and the glass it got on had to be replaced because it etched itself into it.

Degreasers vary in strength- some are nasty and some are paint safe (especially diluted) like Optimum Power Clean and P21S total auto wash. Store bought degreasers, Meguiar's APC, Chemical Guys Grime Reaper, Simple Green, etc. are not degreasers that I'd use or leave on paint.

Beau- that needs to be re-dyed. There is no way around it.

I might as well just try and re-dye it and see how it comes out. If it doesn't look any better than I will bite the bullet and have that section replaced.. thanks again for all the help!
