how do you guys get salt off your carpet?? i tried using vinegar. it helps but it comes back...=(

soap, water, scrub brush, and shop vac to suck up the water. repeat if necessary.

yes. I am.

I usually go with the method of using a lot of elbow grease to get a job done. Use a brush that is stiff enough to break up the salt but not too stiff that its gonna rip up your carpet

Presuming since Hochspannung lives in Hamilton, Ontario, he's bound to have salt on his shoes when he gets into the car during the winter. Even with rubber mats, you sometimes get that melted stuff to run off the edges then onto the carpet.

EW....that would be a rough one to get rid of. Road salt is some nasty stuff.

You should pick up a set of all weather mats from WeatherTech. Quality stuff.

No matter what kind of mats you use when you live where I do, when winter is over you are going to have to clean the salty out of your carpets no matter what. usually just builds up by the dead pedal and the gas pedal. I just use any kind of soap... Dawn works good lol. just get your carpet real wet and soapy and start scrubbing. Then suck it up with the shop vac and repeat.
