So....we are currently in the process of pulling helper springs out on the fronts. I will documenthow to and ride differences here, as well as post some pics.
I anticipate the ride will be...ahem...more aggressive, and the intention is to drop front around 1.25".
That will give me about a 20" fender to ground clearance all around, with about 3" from ground bottom of splinter.

You may have to pave your driveway my man! I thought your car was just about slammed when I saw it! Are you trying to get the fronts as low as the rears?
Good luck with the mod though, the car will definitely have a stance when done!

Kyle, I am sure that we will be reading a thread about which company is best to pave my drive.
In for Pics!

That's the idea. Front drop = rear drop.
Left side is done.

Both sides done. 2 hours total time.
Miscalculation occurred. Helper springs removed. Ride height did not change. I actually like road feel better though. Done for the night.
Will be making adjustments tomorrow, with pic uploads.

Good luck on the ride to work dude. I64 dyno, hopefully all is good.
Dane your car looks great. I'm not a fan of how low, but I do like how the front = rear. It makes it look much better. I'm :drool over the car as a whole though.

That was me coming down the driveway, off the rocks onto the concrete....hehe.
We are at Radio Shack right now. I'll snap a quick pic of the rake.

Yeah it did. Raised it back up today, between the above, and stock. Basically no wheel gap.
I decided the drawp just wasn't fair to the car.

Wasn't fair as in you were limited in where you could take the car or was the ride bad?? Something else?
Just curious, I thought you wanted it low?

I want it low. Correct. I really liked the way it looked.
Two days driving around Norfolk, is what wasn't fair. Too many potholes/bumps. Car ran great here around Williamsburg.

I hear ya...there is a delicate balance between ride height and usability. We all love how lemans racers look, but they just won't work on pubic roads.
It's not so bad here in Black Mountain, but Ryan does have a very limited selection of gas stations she can fuel up at in town. And Lucy is an alcohol free car as she will NOT allow Ryan to visit the ABC store!

dips or speed bumps that Lucy scrapes on at gas stations and the ABC store??

DW,
Did you do any fender work at all?
I'm looking for more of a drop on my ST V1's....I have a bit more I can get out of them, but not much. Also thinking of using spacers on the 135's I have since I cant really afford the extra cha-ching right now.....

In the NC mountains most of the roads are 6 inches lower than the stores next to the road. It's more an an intense ramp-up to get to most gas stations and such. Our ABC store has this 6 inch ramp-up but immediately after that is a downhill section of pavement. Almost everyone without a truck scrapes on the hump right there. Lucy would NEVER make it!

do you have trouble with driveways? I already have some issues with my rear wheel slipping (no lsd) when going up driveways and I'm NOWHERE as low as you hhah. Looks amazing though :)
danewilson77
06-07-2012, 09:07 AM
No....I don't frequent many driveways that are like that...and like stated...I've already raised it back up to a "median" level.....about 1" higher, front/rear. Basically....my height is what my sig pic shows....but not as much wheel gap in the front. Rear is the same.
