from SIGFest 2012. I wanted to join this forum after meeting so many awesome people that became good friends at SIGFest this past weekend. Now I'll admit that I am a member of a bunch of forums....from everything about camping, guns, toyotas, photography, ect.

When my fiance joined this one I told her that ZHPMafia was just another forum (I apologize for this but it's true) and that she was blowing this "SIGFest" thing way out of proportion. I tried to talk her out of going numerous times but she was persistent. So, once I knew the battle was lost, I decided to bite the bullet and book the hotel room.

On our ride down we met up with a couple nice guys....Chris and Matt. They seemed cool but it was too early to tell how this weekend was going to unfold.

When we got to the parking lot at our hotel and started to meet everyone I was still cautious, everyone was totally new to me of course. We checked in and I met Rob and Kristen, they seemed like a nice couple and we talked a little while they were getting their room. We went back out to the lot and met up with everyone else. There was this guy named Charlie, SUPER NICE GUY, crazy about the BMW we brought to the event. I loosened up a bit talking to him about my fiance's car.

When we got to the house we were meeting up with everyone at and this guy I've never met before, lookin like Chip Foose in those shades, came up and gave me a hug I was shocked, what a genuine fellow!

As the evening progressed and I met Casey, Kyle, Marc, Keith, Brett, Chad, Ryan, Rob, Robin, Gary, Stu, Justin, John R. (well we didn't meet him until the next morning and that son of a gun bought me coffee!!!!) and many others that I apologize for not mentioning at this time I began to realize that there was a fresh pot of Crow for me waiting back at our hotel room. And I must tell you ALL I don't have to eat Crow very often!

I have never met a group of more genuine people in my life. You guys treat each other amazingly. You treated me, a total stranger, amazingly. If the world functioned as this ZHPMafia does it would be a much better place for us all to reside in.

So....I do apologize for making this unjust and wrong judgment of ZHPMafia.

Well, this is supposed to be an introduction so here goes:

I don't currently own a BMW but I do work on one quite often. When my fiance decides which BMW she wants next (M3 or Z3M??) I MIGHT get a set of keys to that one? We'll see how that goes.

I used to HATE BMWs. But when I fell in love with the most beautiful and inspiring woman in this world I quickly realized that her car was coming with. That car broke down on her all the time but she loved it! I fixed it on the side of the road a few times with my leatherman for pete's sake! I tried to get her to trade it in, I even had her at a dealership in another car, she couldn't do it.

There was only one thing to do, make it dependable so I wouldn't have to worry about her being on the side of the road. That's where her car's "official" build thread should start. In my garage fixing leaky gaskets, cooling systems, transmissions, wheel bearings....the list goes on. I taught her everything I know about vehicles since I had ran a mechanic's shop out of my garage for a few years and have to modify anything that I'm going to drive. She quickly followed suit and now not only is her car very dependable now, but it is gorgeous.

She loves her car, even gave it a name. I have learned that she is my soulmate, and I'd do anything to make her happy. Believe me there were many late nights in my garage workin on her car!

I've also learned that BMWs are great vehicles. They just need a little more "coddling" than other cars and usually lose their dependability if you treat them like 1985 Honda Civics. I would love to own an M of some fashion one day (maybe a tuned 135i like Kpros!!!) but I'm sure that the next one we purchase, will also be my fiance's. I MAY be able to drive it from time to time...when she's asleep or driving her other BMW. Only time will tell!

I thank you all for allowing me to be a part of this wonderful forum and family. I will cherish it and try my hardest to be a benefit here.

If you've read this far and don't know who I am there is a good chance you weren't at SIGFest (I miss you guys already!!!). I'll hope to become more acquainted with the rest of you all as time progresses.

My name is Kyle and I am currently sitting on a couch next to the lovely Ryans323i.

Kyle, so glad you signed up. We weren't able to talk to much at SIGFEST with everyone meeting and exchanging stories but we got to have a good chat Sunday and I realized we are a lot alike.

I still want pics of the taco brother man.

:rofl at chip foose reference. That is exactly who Dane reminds me of!

I didn't get to formally meet you but whats up Kyle!
I am a car guy first and foremost, wasn't a huge BMW guy but appreciate all things with engines.
Welcome to the forum, it isn't like most others as here people respect you.

Still trying to get my other half on here.

Hey Kyle.....both you and Ryan are the best. I tried to help with her getting the wheels off her car, and she gave me the "look" like I got it..back off!
Ryan's car is great. Her attention to detail is second to none.

I hope to see you both soon, and Ryan, I am waiting for the info on detailing my headlights!

An official welcome to the family Kyle (but you were already a member and just didn't know it. Because, if Ryan vouched for you, you're vouched for). And, you're welcome for the coffee. :) Really enjoyed meeting you, and thanks for your help with Charlie's VANOS, it was invaluable. I feel like I can do mine now. Looking forward to seeing you around here.

Great to have you here Kyle. I loved the way you shut down the "I am a car club sponsor" lady at the shoot in the field, and helped us navigate the cars over the big rocks.

Dane was slammed all the way on his coils and he did alright. I don't know about anyone else.

Welcome Kyle, it was great to meet you and caravan with you to Williamsburg. Also thanks for letting me hang out of lucy and tell Ryan I apologize for messing up her hair :)

Kyle did a great job navigating everyone. No body scraped but we all were inching our way in. Ryan (WhiteXI) could have entered at mach II. His AWD definitely excelled in the field.

Welcome to the familia Rob... Huh?

Yes, I called him Rob twice while he was helping everyone navigate thru those 'boulders', and then my wife told me 'you know what, i think i overheard somebody called him Kyle, are you sure his name is Rob?' :rofl

And my wife thought you were a real gentleman when you came to Ryan's side when she started tearing up after Casey speech...

And to correct myself, welcome to the familia Kyle!!! :thumbsup

Thanks for all the welcomes and positive responses everyone! I do look forward to meeting the rest of the members on here hopefully at the next meet. From what I hear from Ryan, since I've been working some sick hours at my machine shop I haven't had time to get around to the rest of the forum, there are quite a few "mini-meets" already in the making. It's great that everyone had such a good time at Dane's house and around his town. It was a blast!! (all except that guy accosting Kristen as she was trying to fix his Honda!!!)

We're off to dinner and a movie with our little girl. I can't wait to post up some DIYs. To be honest most of the time I don't slow down to photograph everything since I'm all greasy. Next time will be different since we have the Tundra for Ryan to drive now. We won't have to rush to get her car back together so she has something to drive the next day. I'd say that's the number one thing to have if you're modding....another car to drive!!

Anyhow, be back soon guys!

I was an avowed Audi guy until I drove my friends BMW. While I still love the way Audi's look, BMW is the ultimate driving experience, especially in those beautiful mountains you live in!

Just getting back on the forum after a couple of weeks vacation, etc. I was looking for this thread...

Kyle when you were describing everyone at the meet in your introduction, you were also describing yourself. You fit in perfectly here!
We have a lot in common, a love for machinery and a greater love for our signifacant other. I enjoyed every minute we spent with you and Ryan. We WILL see you soon!

BTW, I never realized it before... Dane does look like Chip Foose! :blink

Thank you sir! Gotta have ya some truckz up here in the mountains! On a side note the Tundra has a Leer camper shell on it now also. And a sweet Line-X bedliner! It's the only way to fly, now he's dressed just like his little Tacoma brother!
