Well I bought the car 2 weeks ago and I didn't even think about the fact that I'm missing the ZHP shift know. :( Now I'm even more pissed at the stealership I bought this car from. Anyone know the best place to find a cheap ZHP knob?

Try all of the usual suspects. I would say Tischer. I think they have them for $62. Something like that.

EDIT: Actually, they are $65 with free shipping.

I would say go with an illuminated ZHP knob from leatherz, but it is much more expensive

Ok I like light up knob but I would rather have the zhp knob. Is there a DIY for a light up zhp knob?

Never mind I found the illuminated zhp knob. At first I only saw the illuminated non zhp knob. Are they serious though. $175 is a high price in itself but it's saying add another $115 for the standard 6 speed piece. $290 for an illuminated shift knob is way too high. I'd pay $150 at most for it.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I'm just gonna stick with getting the regular ZHP knob for $65.

Yeah, I see no need to have your knob glowing...

Agree. We don't need glowing.

a glowing knob would be cool, but it doesnt even come close to justifying a $290 price tag

The glowing knob is only cool if its the same color as your undercarriage street glow.....

What if the knob cost ~100 with the red glow and is made of pure metal and then wrapped to give the zhp look, but the weight is there. It will look the same just the feel will be very sheek due to that it has some good weight to it.

I know most of the shift knob stuff is for manuals, but are there any mods for the Auto shift levers/knobs? Just curious...

Well I finally ordered the stock ZHP knob. I'm still pissed I didn't catch that when I bought the car. Didn't know as much as I do now.

How do you remove the old one and install the new one?

Marcus-SanDiego

Typically you just pull the one off -- and push the other one on.

I'd recommend putting the car in 2nd, 4th, or 6th -- so that it is closest to you. You don't twist the knob off. You just pull it straight off. It can be a chore. Be careful not to punch yourself in the face.

Haha okay I'll be sure to remember that when pulling it off. Maybe I should take a DIY video just in case so I can laugh at it later.

The knob will look just like OEM. We are trying to figure out if it is worth the cost to get into, since our buy-in is just about 500 knobs. Don't know if these are really that popular. If we had only had to buy 200 then it wouldn't be that bad at all.
