How to remove exterior trim

Hey guys,
How do you remove the trim on the outside of the car. Along the doors, bumpers, etc. I am going to restore it but don't want to break it by taking it off incorrectly haha

Help?

The doors' trim come off just like the interior trim. The rear bumper is a little different. They're just clipped in as well, but you'll need to remove the center strip before the corners. Also the corner trim is "slid" into the bumper a little towards the rear wheels. May want to have some extra clips on hand (for the door trims) as you're liable to break a few. The bumper trim have tabs that clip into the bumper.

Are you removing for detailing?

As a side note, I've never removed the trim from a ZHP front bumper. If it's like my old 323 bumper, then it's exactly the same as removing the rear bumper's trim.

Yes I'm removing for detailing. I'm gonna restore the trim since it's not looking too great. So I can just pry it off on the sides and slide/pry it out on the front and rear?

I plan on putting either back to black on it with some 303 aerospace for protection or I'm just going to paint them flat black. Haven't decided yet.

As Ryan mentioned earlier....be sure to grab extra clips before you take off your door/fender trim. You will most likely break some of the clips and need to replace them. There's nothing worse than removing your door trim only to have a few broken clips in the process....

I have part numbers but won't be able to update this post with them until I get home from work this afternoon....

Chris, I'd suggest getting a Mr. Clean Magic Eraser.

Dane has done it.. as have I and the results are great. It's like an ultra-fine sandpaper that removes all previous waxes and sealants. I scrubbed mine for only a little bit and they looked 10x better.
