View Full Version : Pic Request... All the different colors of a ZHP
JupiterBMW

As a new member, I'm still searching for the perfect ZHP. I've seen mostly alpine white, titanium silver, black, imola red, and silver grey, I think... But after reading the FAQ, I realize there are a BUNCH of different colors that were available...? I'd like to see some others!
So, please post one picture of your car, the official color name, and the year (different colors available in different years..?) I'll start with the car I'm potentially buying..
'05 Sedan, Alpine White.

AFAIK all the colors were available throughout the production run and (with the exception of Imola) are all available on non-ZHP E46's. The only ones that will be rare are the Individual colors that had to be special ordered from the factory ($5000 extra). There is a member on here with an Individual Dakar on Grey vert but that's the only non standard color that I've seen.

Cool looking car in a unique color. I've seen a laguna seca blue m3 and puke yellow green m3 at work (don't know the name for that one). Until you mentioned it I didn't even know Dakar was available cuz I thought it was an e36 thing. It would look better with some black trim :)

Hmm, thanks for all the replies..
Dakar Yellow- pretty cool to see something so rare... Although, not for me... A little too loud for my taste!
Sparkling Graphite is a nice color, the same color (roughly) as my current car... So, I would go for it, but I'd like a change if possible... Is this 'Silbergrau' that I see in some sigs? I'm trying to correspond the English/German color names...
Orient Blue! Your car is so sexy, and those pictures are awesome.. It is a lot more blue/less black than I've seen in other pics. I like that a LOT... Thanks for posting!

Oh geez... If I could ever find either of those cars, yum... I know people probably think I'm crazy, but I love love that puke yellow green M3 color, which I believe is called "Phoenix Yellow Metallic"... And Laguna Seca Blue is awesome too...
Yup mine is silber grau - silver grey. TiAg (titanium silver hence the TiAg) is the mercury looking silver.

Thanks Hermes... Yeah, I'm still trying to figure out all the German translations...
From what I can tell... TiAg is lightest, then Silver Grey, and then Sparkling Graphite is the darkest of the 3... Concur?
Can't find any decent pics because I'm on my iPhone but mystic blue is a great color. Check the thread for mystic blue owners.

Yeah Mystic is a great color... I do like it a lot, but something about Orient Blue I like better. Is Mystic a metallic? I think that's what gets me. All the mystic cars I see are 'flat' looking, like there's no metallic... If I were to go with a darker color, I would have to get something with metallic in it to give the paint some depth...
*sigh* I still want a white one though...

It makes a nice sound; it has a mean growl when you start up the engine and a nice note below 2200 revs. Above 2200 it sounds surprisingly stock. However, the look of it kind of bothers me, as it reminds me of something from a jdm car. :shifty I also scrape the damn thing everywhere. It sits 3-4 inches off the ground in 3 different spots.
I'm planning on getting rid of it asap. Once I sell this old dirt bike of mine I'll probably buy John's TSE3 if he still wants to sell it. :)

There are lots of colors in this list the ZHP did not come in as standard available colors.

I say this based on what I've actually seen. I search for rare and unique stuff for the E46 all the time and never once seen a Topaz Blue ZHP, or a Sedona-whatever-the-heck-it's-called one. I believe to get those colors, it would have to be done through the Individual program.
It's kind of like how you can't get an Estoril Blue F30 without the M-Sport package. Same sort of deal; they only offered certain colors as selectable options when ordering the ZHP.
All the colors listed in the above post were E46-in-general colors and were allowed or disallowed based on the package ordered (with or without ZHP). Now, I'm not 100% sure that BMW made you go through the individual program for colors like Oxford Green; it wasn't a popular color and I'm not sure if it was selectable on the site, for example, when the car was new. I do know that Oxford was available to some degree, I'm just not sure if it was considered a standard color option. Perhaps Oxford was an Individual color option for the ZHP specifically? Who knows.
