I have created the zhpmafia.com domain over at ServInt. I now need to make a copy of all of the files on the current server and then move them over to ServInt. Once I find out how I go about doing that, and we're ready to make the move to the new server, I will take this site down. That will likely happen in the next couple of hours -- though I may wait until later tonight. Not sure yet.

Anyhow, things are moving along behind the scenes.

OK. So the site will likely go down later tonight. My admin will be copying all files. We will then dump them over at new host. Then we will change DNS.

Not sure of the exact time. Just expect later tonight.

Update: the move tonight will depend on how involved the database transfer is. If it's not too involved, and it's a straight-forward thing, we will be doing it. If it's a little more complicated, then the site will stay up as normal.

If you see a note on main screen, saying that we're moving, you'll know what we're up to. Until further notice, though, it's business as usual.

We are aiming for a possible Wednesday night migration. We have a conference call scheduled for tomorrow afternoon. If the changeover is involved, we will likely make the move this weekend.

Host side problems. On phone with technical support. They are working to get it back up. Happened while they moved me out of the container.

The transfer is now complete. Still at current host.

We have not moved the site over to the new server yet.

But this is yet another example of why Media Temple has lost my business.

Inconsistent performance. Very slow during morning hours. Fast during evening. An outage 30 mins ago. On and on.

Definitely not pissed. Just annoyed. We now have to waste time moving stuff over to new host. Additionally, we are all going to be inconvenienced.
